Whenever that happens to be Actually its quite a tough one. If we decide to make the change at the end of October which may be forced on us if performances and results dont go our way then the first decision is either to appoint someone straight away or put in Kenny till the end of the season when hopefully you would have more of a choice. Lets look at some of the candidates JOSE MOURINHO Well if you want to win the PL he is the stand out title but certainly wouldnt come to anfield mid season but if he wins the CL with Real this season he might quit why the going is good. MARCEL LIPPI & GUS HIDDINK Next best choice on abillity however this …

He's the closest thing to Suarez that we have signed since his departure. Hopefully he can inspire Rodgers tricky reds back to winning matches 6-3. Number 7 shirt?

Well, until we see the 64-team CL instead of the 32-version, 4th is still the Holy Grail as it stands...like it or not. After 14 games, and results-wise a chatastrophic start to the season, we are: 7 pts behind Spurs 6 pts behind Everton 5 pts behind Arsenal If (big if) the manager gets through to the players and we get one more decent attacking option in January (bearing in mind the continued development of our youngsters, Borini included), I actually think we can pull it off. Today showed us that Spurs are even more of a one man team than us, Everton have been less impressive the last few weeks, and Arsenal aren't exactly the bastion of invincibility eith…

is becoming an issue. He has served us well, but what the fuck is going on this season? I'd love a RB who can stop a cross now and again. Plus, he's earning shit loads, isn't he? Looks like he might well be one for the block.

Massive game, bloody massive, I think Allen might play this one, not sure who'll miss out. We have to win, no point hammering the team at the top if we can't beat team at the bottom. We might need to be patient here, Suarez is unlikely to go 3 games without scoring so hopefully he'll be on form.

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more; Or close the wall up with our Liverpool dead. In peace there's nothing so becomes a man As modest stillness and humility: But when the blast of war blows in our ears, Then imitate the action of the tiger; Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood, Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage; Then lend the eye a terrible aspect; Let pry through the portage of the head Like the brass cannon; let the brow o'erwhelm it As fearfully as doth a galled rock O'erhang and jutty his confounded base, Swill'd with the wild and wasteful ocean. Now set the teeth and s…

Looking forward to this match, given we have a week to prepare and be fully rested for them. I expect Ferguson to do some mind games in the press. Probably putting the pressure on the ref about Suarez with the handball incident on the weekend. I'd start Sturridge. Vidic hates pace and Sturridge will give us that threat on the counter attack, which will be needed at Old Trafford. I expect Suarez and Sterling to be the wide forwards of Sturridge. I think the hardest decision for Rodgers is to decide who will be the two to partner Gerrard in midfield. You could have a good argument for Lucas, Henderson or Allen. I think I'd go for Lucas and Henderson a…

Lots and lots and lots of talk that he's off to the MLS. Seems there may be some press stuff tomorrow. I know we've another Stevie thread but there seems to be something to this. And I'm a maverick living life by my own rules.

I'll post a question about our beloved game, and (which is why I put it on the members thread) I will trust that no-one will google the answer. The person that guesses correctly poses the next question. And so on. I love a bit of footy trivia especially the brain rackers. If the answer isn't gone after 24 hours, the person in the seat gives the answer then asks again. The person who poses the question has to declare the answer correct before the next person can go. Anyone who googles it is a prick in the eyes of Shanks. 1) who did Everton beat in the 84/85 fa cup semi final

Despite the defensive errors (Been happening regardless) we have been playing very well. Gerrard dropping has allowed Henderson more freedom to roam and Sterling has been on fire since Lucas got injured. Are we a better team without him?

I'm surprised there's no match thread when we have a derby in two days, is that because we're all dreading it and trying to put it to the back of our minds? Or are we all too busy bitching about the distinct lack of transfer activity when the team is crying out for reinforcements? Given Everton's impressive form recently and our woeful showing, particularly first half against Villa, I have to say I'm not especially optimistic. However talking to my blue mate yesterday, he reckons they have been far from brilliant recently and was scathing about their last game against West Brom. He reckons Lukaku has been pretty awful for the last half a dozen matches and was actually…

We need to make a big statement. a point is an absolute must. A win would be briliant. Don't care how we do it, but a result is vital. these are going to be good this year, and this is a great opportuinity to burst their bubble. Hope that Lallana is fiet enough for the bench. We need support for Sturridge. Fitmness permitting, I'd go Mignolet Manquillo Skrtel Lovren Moreno Gerrard Henderson Allen Sterling Mario Sturridge

Anyway may as well start this. Enrique is apparently gona miss this as his knee flared up after last week so there's obviously a problem there that is more serious than we thought. So guess it'll be Cissokho at LB as I'd rather have a LB than a CB play there, and given he's been at melwood for 10 days while internationals are on I'd say Rodgers will work with him. I'd go with same team as last week but leave out Agger as Lukaku must be rubbing his hands at the thought of toying with him again, I actually wouldn't be against bringing Allen in for Couthinio as I think this game could pass him by and we might need to just keep the ball for periods of the game and be patient …

We've certainly got a lot to do on our journey back to being a top team (as opposed to club) and the deficiencies are clear to all. However, I reckon Rodgers is due some credit as well as all the criticism he's had. So, my challenge to the major doubters (and you know who you are) is to post all the things you like about his tenure in this thread without any reference to the stuff you tell us about day after day that you don't like. If you can't do that after a 6-0 away win (no matter what you're facing as opposition) then I think it's a pretty poor show. So, over to you.

Nearly here! Are you excited? or do you not care? What is everyone looking forward to? and most important, who are the fit athletes I should be looking out for?

Apparently Rodgers has said we have confirmed a fee for Allen. He was also at the match tonight. I think he is a very good player. He's fast and nippy winning the ball back, not too dissimilar to Lucas, and keeps the ball very well with good movement and smart passing. Good partner for Lucas. People will complain about the price, but I think he's good enough, Rodgers knows him and he knows Rodgers and his system. Potential to be a top top Premier League midfielder, and he's only 22. I actually said around Christmas that he's a shoe-in to replace Scholes. Thumbs up from me. Discuss.
