At fucking last. And a 3pm Saturday to go with it. This is where are season starts. No more fucking about. I've not seen anything about any new injuries from international duty, so that's a relief. Brighton have obviously started the season well like they did last year, but fuck knows what the loss of potter will do for this one. You've got to hate it when players are playing for someone new no matter what. So for the team. I think we have to go as strong as we can despite the CL on Tuesday. Ali, Trent, Kostas, matip, vvd, fab, thiago, Henderson, Salah, Jota, Diaz. As for score, I dunno why, but I'm feeling very upbeat. 5-0 (Salah, Diaz, Jota, Nu…

Apologies to Baz if he's just too busy but it's the day of the game and we can't not have a match thread even if we are still mourning. Anyway, it seems the majority of us who said football was back too soon have been proven right. We currently look like a team who no longer believe in what we are doing and it's not because Sadio left. Bayern have also had a shit start to their season. This is fixable though and although tonight's game will be tough I'm expecting a 2-0 win with Mo And Nunez scoring. The starting eleven, who knows? Players are dropping like flies, some doing impressions of dying flies, Hi Naby. Also hoping for a big crowd reaction tonig…

Providing one of the Queen’s left behind corgi’s doesn’t die and the fixtures get called off I would much like to have the chance to see us put fam and blud back in their box.

So I guess we'll find out for sure soon, but it's looking like games will go ahead. I hope they do even if a break to get players fitter might help us right now. What the fuck are we going to do I don't know. So many players look out of form. This added to our invisible midfield is a nightmare. Are the two directly connected? I think there's a chance that is the case. I'm not someone who advocates playing Trent in midfield, my view is why would you want to move one of the world's best full backs. The trouble is, I don't think Trent is that at the moment. So I'd be very tempted to bring Gomez in at right back (and hope Wednesday was just one of those days for …

We don't feel ready for this. We've looked pretty ordinary against some not so good teams. I don't know much about this Napoli team, but it's always tough to go there. I expect thiago and Arthur to be available and I do wonder if they'll get 45 mins each. I'd like us to be able to give Elliot a rest too, but I'm not sure we have anyone but milner and if we're to use Arthur and thiago we probably need to have someone as backup in case one of them breaks down. Even if carvalho makes it, i would keep him in the bench to ensure we don't hold his recovery back and make sure he's 100% for the weekend. I'd also give Diaz a blow and let Jota have 60 mins. And if mati…

Wouldn’t greatly appreciate a golden text and ticket for this please. As I’ll be on the train, knowing at the earliest opportunity would be super duper helpful. Cheers.

Another shit kick off time. We've had more than our fair share this season already, game 6 and it's 2 x Monday nights and 2 x 12.30. Then this one is at a shithole with dressing rooms in a car park and a bunch of rabid dogs in the stands and often on the pitch. So we get Darwin and Jota back in the squad. Apparently Arthur isn't available. Henderson is deffo out, as is thiago - although he's supposedly back in training on Monday. Personally I wouldn't bring Darwin in to start, I think save him off the bench. Midfield is a struggle though and we need to be mindful of how much we're playing Elliot. I guess there's 3 choices to replace Henderson, carvalho, milne…

So the win at the weekend was helpful, but the results so far give us no wiggle room and we need to get on one of those long runs of winning every game. Newcastle looked pretty handy on the counter against City, but in the highlights i saw of yesterday's game, they looked quite blunt. Perhaps that's the difference between chasing the game and being able to sit and counter, which they will certainly do tomorrow. It looks like that Bruno lad won't be playing, he's looked decent since he joined them and Saint maximam limped off at the end of the game yesterday too, so it would be a result if he's also missing. For us, it seems jones and matip are back in training…

What a fucking shit start this has been. We've got to get it right tomorrow. Let's make no bones about it, this is probably our easiest league fixture of the season. Anything less than a win is a disaster. It doesn't sound like anyone is back. And let's hope nobody else is out. Fuck knows what we do with the team, as I don't want to see that lethargy again tomorrow. But you look at who we had available and there's not really many choices, maybe we could go 424, firmino is almost a midfielder anway. Ali, Trent, robbo, vvd, Gomez, fab, Henderson, carvalho, firmino, Salah, Diaz. 2-0 (Salah & Diaz) Just fucking win.

Another fucking Monday. Fuck off sky. We absolutely have to win..no more excuses. It's a long time since they've put in a performance of any note against anyone. But that doesn't mean we should think it's going to be easy. We're going to the home of our enemy. If it is easy, it'll be because we have to go in and work and put them.to the sword. I don't expect it to be easy though. We absolutely must not concede the first goal. This is becoming a bad habit and we cannot give them a glimmer of hope to energise their team and dickheads in the stand. Get in front and grind them down. For the team, who knows after last week. I'm assuming robbos issue wi…

Fucking Monday shite. Weird start to the season this. It feels really shite. One thing is for sure, we need to get our fucking fingers out, because that wasn't good enough last week. I don't think there'll be many changes from last week. I have a sneaky feeling we might pull a surprise though, I think firmino might fill the left mid slot. Ali, Trent, robbo, matip, vvd, fab, Henderson, firmino, Salah, Diaz, Darwin. Result could be anything after the last 2 performances. 3-0 (Darwin 3).

Here we go again. The first of 38 league wins this season. I hadn't been feeling ready for the season, but I'm well up for it now. I'm a bit worried about us starting to run low on midfielders already. The main 3 will get injuries and there seems fuck all in reserve. But at least for now the main 3 are fit. Ali, Trent, robbo, vvd, matip, fab, Henderson, thiago, firmino, Salah, Diaz. Fulham are fucking shite. We'll be too good for them. 0-3 (Salah, Diaz, Nunez)

I didn't know if to bother with match threads this season, it was dying off a bit towards the end of last season. I don't know what type of team klopp will play as we also have the game Sunday, but I expect him to go strong. Adrian, Trent, robbo, vvd, konate, fab, Henderson, thiago, Diaz, Salah, firmino. As for the scoreline. I feel pessimistic. Klopp will have been running them into the ground and I sure the focus is on fulham and not tomorrow. 0-2.

Another rock solid season from the skipper, who bizarrely still seems to be not fully appreciated by some of our fanbase. I say that only because of some of the crazy stuff I see written about him on social media. At Anfield it’s a completely different story, there’s never any sense of the crowd doubting him but then I’ll fire up Twitter on the way home and see loads of complaining about him. I don’t get it at all. He’s a fantastic captain and a top player but he is no longer always a guaranteed starter and there were times when he was overlooked for big games the season just gone. Not just because of the normal rotation either. He plays far more often than he…

He was our best midfielder this season just gone and the only thing stopping me giving a perfect ten was the amount of games he missed. It probably isn’t that many in reality but it sure feels like it, because even two weeks without Thiago feels like a lifetime. I want him on the pitch all the time and even when he’s subbed to keep him fresh I just feel a massive sense of disappointment that he’s leaving the field. Watching Thiago is an experience all of itself. There are some players who are just different. You find your eyes drawn to them more than the others. Barnes, Alonso, Molby, Suarez, Thiago etc. Just players who are mesmeric with what they do. As I s…

Spoiler alert. I gave him an 8. Am I under selling him a little here? I love Fabinho and think he’s brilliant. I would say that he had an excellent season yet I don’t think he’s been at his absolute best as consistently as I’ve come to expect. Maybe I’m just starting to take him for granted a bit? I think the reason I’m not going higher is because it feels like there have been a handful of games where he’s actually been really bad. It isn’t the norm and those are isolated games, but Fab seems to be one of those players who when he’s bad, he’s terrible. It doesn’t happen often and most of the time he’s great, but when he isn’t….. Off the top of my …

I like Ox more than most probably do. I feel strangely protective towards him and will usually want to defend him when the criticism is flying his way. I’m not sure why I feel that way. It might be because he’s such a personable lad and always comes across well in any media the club put out, while it’s also because of how good he was before he picked up that cruel injury against Roma. Some say he’s never been the same since that injury but I don’t see it that way at all. The injury itself hasn’t damaged him and he’s fully recovered from that. It’s the time he spent out of the team and the fact he’s never really been able to get that kind of run in his favoured…

Really difficult one to grade this is, because I feel like Bobby has had a bit of resurgence this year and yet he didn't really have much of an impact on our season. The problem is that it’s been very much stop start as he’s begun to pick up injuries, which was very much unlike him. Have all those games he’s played in recent years caught up with him? Can the guy who fixed Joel do the same for Bobby? Will he even be here next season? There is a lot of uncertainty with Firmino at the moment. I don’t know what the club will do about his contract situation and I don’t really have an opinion on what they should do. The big criticism of Bobby was him no…

This was undoubtedly Naby's best season for the club, which is damning with feint praise as it's not exactly a high bar he had to jump over. His improved consistency this year was surely not unrelated to the fact it was also the best year he had for avoiding injury, although he still had a couple of brief spells on the sidelines. He started the season well and scored cracking volleys against Palace and Atletico, before finding the net in a terrific individual and team performance at Old Trafford. That might be the best game he’s played for us. He got injured in the next game though and missed a month, which has been the story of his time here really. …

I feel sorry for Joe. He’s hardly been able to get any playing time in his favoured position in the centre alongside Virgil. Remember how good he was in the title winning season when he had an extended run there? He looked like he was on the brink of becoming world class. Since then injuries have completely stunted his growth as a player. He was fit for most of the season but he couldn’t get back in because Joel suddenly turned into freaking Iron Man and never missed a game. In previous seasons there would always be opportunities for games alongside Virgil because none of the others could ever stay for any length of time. Now none of them ever get injured. …

Not quite as impressive as Virg and Matip but not far off it, and considering his age and the fact he’s new to the club that’s pretty remarkable. Konate is way better than I expected him to be. I didn’t think he’d play that much in his first season but he looked impressive right from the start and he just got better and better as the season went on. There were one or two mistakes early on, nothing too glaring and completely understandable given his situation. Centre backs aren’t fully matured until they reach their late twenties, so a 22 year old in a new league, with new team-mates, is always going to have the odd dodgy moment. They were few and far between t…

He scored 10 goals and only started nine games. He’s a big reason why we have two more domestic cups on the Champions Wall. Whatsmore, when he was brought in from the cold against Southampton in a must win league game, he delivered for us again with the opening goal. He’s a terrific little footballer who took advantage of the limited chances that were given to him and he probably deserved to play more. I understand why he didn't, as he's got world class players ahead of him, but Minamino is good enough to have been a Liverpool regular. Just not in this era. Other than Origi, he might just be the most clinical forward we had. He rarely misses, altho…
