So, he returned today. Does anyone think he may still leave, or should we expect an announcement later in the week to confirm that he's staying? I think he'll stay myself but I suppose it's a bit of an anxious time until it's all confirmed. Would you entertain the thought of selling him, considering his fitness record? I'm sure everyone on here has commented about this over on the FF at some stage, but I haven't really read much of it over the last few months...

While I was watching the friendly yesterday I couldn't help but be impressed by Wilson and Shelvey's performances and Sterling's cameo. Wilson struck me in particular at how relaxed he is on the ball and how nothing seems to phase him. He's basically a clone of Agger which is saying something when you've just turned 18. He really does look like a tremendous footballer so far. We're all aware Shelvey doesn't look like an 18 year old synthetically but it's not just that, he plays like an experienced pro, looking for the forward pass, PLAYING the forward pass and constantly asking for the ball, he actually has no fear at all and it's refreshing to see, I doubt it will d…

May as well start a wee thread in here also as the other will go nuts at some point. So what do we think? A serious bid or not? He doesn't seem to want to deal with them at all which will no doubt cause immediate disagreement and a probable reluctance by the yanks to sell to him. Can't help but feel the once bitten thing and so assume this is all pie in teh sky again.

Seen the back of the Mirror today about Redknapp possibly wanting to offload Crouchie. If there is any truth in this then it smacks of 'Arry trying to run before he can walk with Spurs possibly being in the CL next season. Crouch has CL experience, English and would improve most sides which would make it all the more surprising should Spurs sell him. It mire than likely is bollocks as Alan Nixon was behind it but you just never know. I for one would be delighted if there could be any way we could get the Big Fella back at a decent price. Ironic actually as it was only a couple of nights ago I dug a Fanzine out from a couple of years ago and read my tribute article to …

The best starting position of all of these three looks to me to be as a central attacker in "the hole". Gerrard and Torres were absolutely flying as a partnership two seasons ago, so if all else was equal many people would pencil Gerrard in that position again. I don't believe Aquilani has a defensive bone in his body which means for me that he should not have any responsibilities to sit deep when we do not have the ball. Cole apparently wants to play through the centre as well, and if he's come here with that expectation then we may be trying to fit three pegs into one hole. How do people see this particular jigsaw fitting together?

The football forum is a mess, but short of banning loads of people (who will then re-register under another name and do the same thing) there's not much I can do about fixing it. The problem when you start banning people, is that you then end up having to justify every ban and answer questions about why other people haven't been banned etc I have hopefully come up with a solution, this place. Whilst I'm not going to pretend that regulars aren't guilty of personal abuse to eachother and of causing unnecessary rows, there's definitely an issue with new posters who don't see TLW as their 'home' website, and who come on from other sites with the sole intention of pic…
