I tried to start this thread after one week but the hyperdrive went, so it has had to wait until now. How has your experience been of the new style TLW...12 days on? How has it changed your use and enjoyment of the forum? In what way? I found the duplication of topics and contributions on each forum a little difficult to follow at first, but I'm getting the hang of it.

Anyone think it'd be a worthwhile move? I mean, I know it'd be yet another injury-prone player on large wages, but he'd be an improvement on Babel, who we could then move on, he's fast and he offers a degree of versatility, as well as skill, goals and character. I like him a lot and would deffo take him on a loan deal. Whether City would want to deal with us is another question, but I reckon we could let the likes of Celtic establish City's willingness to deal like that in principle and then step in. In such circumstances, I think he'd force the deal through and join us.

I have always loved the art of tagging on the TLW. It is a talent that seems to be thrust amongst the very few on here. It has caused consternation and many an arguement in the past but it can be a thing of beauty if used correctly and succinctly. A simple Queresma analogy or a Smash 'er Lad has caused me no end of mirth. So here's to the return of inconspicuous tagging. Where one can vent his spleen with no reprisal from the soft cunt who originally posted the offending shite.

Mine was back in the Souness managerial days, I thought I'd clear that up as far I remember there really weren't many on his playing days and his managerial career often overshadows what a wonderful player he was for us. Anyway, I digress. It was in the winter of 1993, Got beat by Bolton at home in the FA cup 2-0, Thomas got injured badly. I hardly ever went to aways as I was a poor school kid and had booze and fags to pay for. So missed two away wins inbetween. Then to compound it the next two home games were nil nils against Forest and Ipswich. Hardly even a shot on target in either game, really turgid stuff. This then followed up by the Mancs beat…

I have promised my son to take him to a match at Anfield in the Prem some time after Christmas. What is the best way for me to sort out a pair of tickets without having to resort to the glorified touts that are sports travel companies?

Have we played enough games? We feel a bit undercooked to me. I know we've had the world cup and this ridiculous friendly tonight to contend with, but it just feels like pre-season has been really short this season. We've also changed manager over the summer - perhaps Hodgson prefers a shorter pre-season whereas Benitez preferred a longer, more intense one? Players like Reina have literally had no game time and I don't think that can be a good thing for a player going into a new league season.

This will be of particular interest to the Special One, who seems to be the podcast's no.1 fan. Just recorded one tonight. Jay Spearing on first, then me and Al did our bit. It went pretty well I think, apart from Al insisting we should sign Andy Carroll. Me "He's an absolute headcase Al" Al "Yeah, but you need a bit of that don't you?" How can you argue with logic like that? Will either be online tmrw night or sometime friday, depending on when Numbers sends it over to me.

This exclusitivity thing is having a marked impact on my rep status. I used to be constantly mong-repped, or 'peasant-repped' but as the peasants can no longer afford such luxuries it's looking as if I'm going to have to up my game. Bugger.

Still acting the twat. Last week he refused to do the bleep test in training. John McMahon let him have it, told him he'd get the biggest fine possible if he didn't do it. He did as he was told in the end. He's a fucking waster, but at least he's not being picked even for the ressies, let alone first team squad anymore. He's already had written warnings (I've actually seen one of them believe it or not, it included his exact salary at that time to the penny, he's on more now though since he got his new contract), next time he steps out of line we should just sack the twat. And his mate Charles.

this was the thing that caused the site to go down on friday and for most of saturday. Without getting too technical (as if I could anyway), I think this may be what has been causing the site to overload all this time. I tried rebuilding it, but it got about 1/4 of the way through and stalled. Some people have said that searches are not showing up the correct results, and this will be why. I also think this caused the site to go down at 11pm tonight. It mightn't even be people doing searches, it could be the site doing it, such as when you see 'similar threads' at the bottom of a page. If I'm right, all that kind of stuff uses the search index. I think I can…

Jon Dahl Tomasson Retires From International Football Experienced attacker Jon Dahl Tomasson has made the decision to retire from international football with immediate effect. The 33-year-old forward managed to score 52 goals in 113 appearances for Danish Dynamite. "The national team has been a big part of my career for the last 13 years and it is an important chapter of my life that I'm now ending," commented Tomasson on the Danish Football Federation's official website. "Because of that, this has also been a decision that I've needed the necessary time to make. I had already thought about it before the World Cup, but I wanted to get some distance from the…

Is the new twitter feed thing on the left column of the page working for all of you? Just installed it now, looks fine for me but hows it looking in other browsers? Also, if you can see it, I'm quite proud of the reply I sent to Henry Winter today when he tweeted about Lampard and Terry signing autographs for fans. He didn't reply, but I'd like to think it made him chuckle. If it didn't, fuck him the serious twat!

I didn't want to put this on the GF for my own reasons (which may become clear sometime in the future) but we've got some expats here haven't we? The Chimp perhaps, and others? I know there's a world of information on the net on this subject but would be interested to hear the experiences of anyone on TLW who's upped and gone to Aus. Pitfalls, dos and don'ts, entry requirements etc. Cheers

I put this on twitter last night but forgot to post it in here. Mike Kelly was working at Melwood last week. Apparently we agreed compensation with Fulham when Hughes took over, and he's working with Roy again now. Don't know why it hasn't been mentioned anywhere else yet.

Right let's get the season off to a good start with some betting. Everyone in this area can use vbookie so there's no excuse not to flash a little of that vcash around. IMPORTANT PLEASE READ For all you poor gamblers that have less than 150 vcash I'm offering you and only you a special deal. Place a bet on the 'CASH BOOSTER' bet at the bottom of the page and provided we do not make a substitution of any kind in the first half it will pay out. If you have over 150 vcash then please do not place a bet here. No hidden bets in this section either or I will have to void the bet. For everyone else in order to celebrate the new section, the start of a new season, a new …

A while back, I think in the England-Germany thread, I mentioned I was working on a piece about the use of video technology in football. It's taken a while, but I wanted it to be clear and accurate, so I waited until yesterday to email it to the editors of various football publications, with a request for feedback and tips on maybe improving the content or wording. On the strength of that, it will be forwarded to FIFA, where hopefully Blatter himself will look at it. I wanted to post it for Member's perusal first, instead of the wowdy wabble of wetched wapscallions that populate the FF. It's a long read, but please tell me what you think. I will post any feedback I ge…

Just read this on Football 365. (Sorry if its old news or posted somewhere else) CARRA TO GET NEW CONTRACT Roy Hodgson has confirmed Jamie Carragher will be offered a new contract at Liverpool once the club's ownership saga is resolved. Reds defender Carragher is into the final year of his current deal and plans for a new contract have been on hold because of the uncertainty surrounding the club's future under American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett. Concerns have been raised that the 32-year-old centre-back, who was part of the England set-up during the World Cup, could leave after the current campaign but Liverpool boss Hodgson expe…
