Allardyce: "I'm not suited to Bolton or Blackburn. I'm more suited to Inter or Real Madrid. I'd win the double or league every time" Superb that!

Peter Gulacsi has taken a short journey across the Mersey to join Tranmere Rovers on an emergency loan. The Hungarian stopper spent a successful loan spell with the Wirral club last season and played a major part in helping Les Parry's side regain their League One status. Gulacsi joins on an emergency loan because Tranmere's two experienced 'keepers Gunnar Nielsen and Simon Miotto are both injured. The reserve team stopper is expected to start in tomorrow's Prenton Park meeting with Charlton Athletic. His emergency loan is due to exprire on October 18. Parry said: "Peter did really well for us last season so I'm pleased to be able to bring him back to…

After the Steaua thread and now the Maxi thread where everyone is just disagreeing with me (and in most cases proving me wrong it has to be said) I’ve decided to start my own thread where I can write things and people have to agree with me. Because it’s “My Own Thread”. So all you haters, go and hate elsewhere. Babel and Maxi were ace last night, and singing a song is a sure sign of a perfect performance, thus why Jays song was not heard (no comments about him not having one yet, thank you), oh and Aquilani will come good. And that was a really good stepover by Eccleston at the end of the match that Spearing failed to read, thus why it went for a throw. And the Gr…

I'm starting a new thread on this as I couldn't find one, apologies if one is already made. I have to say I am absolutely dreading Sunday. It's been a while since I was so sure of losing, despite yesterdays last 45 minutes being quite good. My biggest fear, and by I reading the forums this week I'm not alone, is a midfield pairing of Lucas and Poulsen. Are those two our central midfield of Sunday I'm betting my bollocks we're not gonna win. So, any team news? Is Cole ready again, I reckon he's been out against City, West Brom and Birmingham - so his suspension should be over. Really hoping that Meireles is starting and that G&T will be fit and up for …

Liverpool co-owner George Gillett is reportedly close to leaving Anfield as Tom Hicks battles for full control - News - MirrorFootball.co.uk Gillett 'set to make Liverpool exit' George Gillett’s reign at Liverpool is on the verge of ending - with Tom Hicks ready to launch a bid to seize control of the club. Gillett has been battling financial problems in America and is facing a deadline next month from Royal Bank of Scotland on a £75million loan set against his 50 per cent stake in Liverpool. As the American’s financial empire continues to struggle, his partner Tom Hicks is desperately trying to take control - by forcing through a refinancing package at…

Only Villa are below us this summer and were quite far behind the other clubs we are meant to compete with for the CL spots. Are we setting our goals to high given our current financial situation? Obviously we have a decent squad compared to most other sides and has done some great deals in the transfer window to be honest, but what should we expect from this season? Source: The Swiss Ramble (Stoke is highlighted because it was a piece on their spending)

Amongst all the nonsense one can usually find some comedy gold on the FF. Most of us don't have time to wade through all the shit, so I thought maybe we could share our findings here. I'll start off with a endearing quote from a poster named "TheStigIsOurs". After taking some shit for suggesting Poulsen is shit (even worse that Lucas) after only a few games, he comes up with this genius reply: Heres a link to the thread Poulsen is Shit

I'm a bit out of the loop as I'm over in Portugal, enjoying a week in Jose's gaff, so I want to know if all these rumours of Usher coming out are for real. Looks like Marca are pretty sure but the German papers are less sure. Some Dutch cunt is saying it isn't true in the Danish press but I hear he's implicated?

I watched the Arsenal game tonight and flicked back and forth (ooh er!) to the Chelsea game. Both of them totally dominated their opposition (especially Arsenal). Arsenal have got several players who can make the telling pass and plenty who can beat a man and whip a ball in. When you think of the games of chess we have been subjected to here it makes a refreshing change to see a team go out and just totally demolish the opposition. I bet Wenger didn't even consider the way Braga play. They didn't contain them, they didn't bide their time or counter attack. They just went out and fucking battered them. 6-0. They scored their first goal in the first ten …

Obviously it's another chance to give some of the squad players and youngsters a bit of game time, but I think we need a convincing win with a few goals, so I'd go with: ------------Reina------------ Kelly---Carra---Soto---Konch ------Meireles---Gerrard------ ---Babel----Cole---Pacheco--- ------------N'Gog------------- Take Gerrard off after an hour or so to keep him fresh for United at the weekend.

We all love to neg, don't we? It's one of the things I love about this site. Such fun to post a really needly, stroppy response to an opinion that jars, but to then be able to TOP IT OFF with a sneaky disapprove neg-tastic snide PM aswell! Bliss. But there are different sorts of negger. The Joy-Spreader - he who lives to pass on green. To make the world a happier, more verdant place. To compliment and nurture. The Scarlet-Reaper - the yin to the joy-spreaders yang. An apocalypse of red await the unwary when the Reaper is about. He never green negs, the only coplour he sees is that of blood. The Mute - negs away all day. Never leaves a comment. A m…

By putting his own personal ambition to manage the club ahead of helping make sure Liverpool FC got the best man for the job. Its pretty clear he likes Hodgson but its also clear he doesnt think he was the best man for the job. If he stayed in the process and didnt put himself forward maybe we would have ended up with a better manager than we currently have. In no way am i trying to diss the King but this thought did cross my mind a couple of days ago and reading his comments today especially about Hodgson does make me wonder if things would have turned out differently if he hadnt put himself forward. Obviously if you think Roy Houllier Hodgson was the rig…

On Sunday, Gray mentioned the fact that we were in for him around 7 years ago (which I knew) but he also said that we didnt sign him after a protest by our fans. I always assumed that it was because he wanted more money and we refused. What was the real reason we didnt sign him? Or was Gray right?

This from his Twitter account yesterday: "Huge cheer as Pulis walks out for 2nd half. Incredible devotion to Stoke on day his mother passed away." And this from Oct 6th 2009: '"Does it matter that this footballing obsessive seems to show no interest in his players as human beings? After all, this is the manager who stayed on for the 2005 Club World Championship in Tokyo despite learning that his father had passed away back in Spain" Now I'm not posting this to debate the rights and wrongs of the management of Rafa Benitez; simply to highlight the hypocrisy and agenda-driven drivel used by many journalists today. Whether it's due to tribalism, a personal d…

Now that the dust has settled after another abysmal performance would anyone like to tell me when we have played 4 such appaling league games on the trot because I certainly cant remember. Never under Rafa, possilby under Houllier but we won them which makes you forget but i dont even think under Souness I can remember us playing 4 such terrible games on the trot. Also how do you see this actually getting any better because I cant. I think there are already serious signs in players attitudes like Torres today that all is not well. So without descendng into carnage lets actually debate this sensibly

I'm commentating on Stoke vs Villa tomorrow and I find myself looking through the Villa squad. I see Eric Lichaj is in the squad, but I've never heard of him before and I've no idea how to pronounce his name. Can anyone help me please?
