Broughton takeover Q&A - Liverpool FC Some good stuff to read in there, although until it's 100% finalised, everything is cautious optimism at the moment. Q- Is their winning mentality the thing which has impressed you most about them during this period? A- Yes. Their commitment is to winning on the pitch and that helps you win off the pitch too. The two are mutually reinforcing.

I'm trying to get 4 at the moment but am only entitled to 1 per fancard. I have 1 on mine, 1 on my dads and 1 on my mates. Is there anyone here who isn't going who wouldn't mind me using their fan card number on the site? Thought I'd appeal to the MF first of all because we're all so awesome All I need is card number, your surname and your post code (all of which are registered with the club) You'd get the "stub" a rep and a pint on the next TLW night out.) It has to be a Season ticket holder tonight but tomorrow a fan card/member number would do Cheers

Might be a shot in the dark, but I think it should be clarified. Speaking of the stadium situation and what NESV has done with Fenway Park. Isn't this also a result of Red Sox fans being opposed to building a new stadium because they consider FP to be sacred ground for them?

How come it's only an option on the MF? And do you get to change your mind as the thread deteriorates or provides greater amusement, say 3 pages in?

I'm basically starting this thread because of some of the comments I noticed in the thread concerning his article/interview with Rafa in the Sunday Independent. I was surprised to see a number of comments referring to him as a 'Cunt' etc. To be honest this surprises me. I read Fanning’s articles pretty regularly and I would consider him to be one of the most pro Liverpool journalists out there. I'm pretty sure that he's not actually a Liverpool fan, however he definitely knows what this club is about and what we stand for as a footballing institution. He generally writes very balanced pieces concerning the club and it's pretty clear to see that he resents what the ya…

Dan Roan on twitter has said he has it on good authority that RBS will not re-finance and will take control of the club in the next two weeks. Roan was interviewing Hester today apparently so that's the best authority! Also, talk of a US and Asian bid and the board are due to meet tomorrow, again apparently. (I've used the word 'apparently' alot over these last few months!)

is fast approaching and with it the yanks' deadline for renewing their debt. It could be a turning point towards an end to the club's misery or it could be another non-event. It's hard to get really excited about it after all those false dawns, eh? Even the media can't be arsed cooking up stories about exotic billionaires with sporting ambitions.

Wow, I have never gone into a Derby game with so much unease. Our players will be up for this though and I think we will get the win. I would go with. Reina Carra Greek Skertel Agger (reasons being- We need to be more dominate in the air. The Greek owes us a good performance after last year, and I would much rather have Agger at LB than Konchesky) Johnson Gerrard Miereles Babel (Reasons- Johnson defensivly has left us short and with Carra at RB he doesnt need to worry about his defensive duties and will be able to get some balls into the box. Gerrard and Merieles have to be a CM partnership as Poulsen has shown us why Juventus were so …

Due to the doom and gloom that engulf us the club the players and the management. i thought i'd give us all a reminder of happier times with a few quotes from Sir Bob of Paisley. "I said that when I took over that I would settle for a drop of Bell's once a month, a big bottle at the end of the season and a ride round the city in an open top bus!" * Bob Paisley in 1950 "Believe it or not the most thrilling experience of my life has nothing to do with football! It was the unforgettable sight of Vesuvius in eruption while stationed near Naples during the war. The most pleasurable experience is football one, and came when I won an Amateur Cup Final with Bis…

Despite all the crap that's going on at the Club, it was a very proud moment for me yesterday when Blackpool were applauded by our support. There's nowhere else that would have happened, nowhere, given the same circumstances. I know it's what we do, but with that kind of class we'll see these times through, and come back stronger. Keep the Faith Redmen.

My first thread on the MF. I was hoping it would be about something a little more euphoric or light hearted, but sadly it seems like I will have aged a few more years before the feeling of depression I have now, has lifted. Anyway. I'll hold my hands up and admit that I honestly thought our squad would benefit from a change of manager. As the season ticks on though, that is looking more and more unlikely. I don't know whats going on in the dressing room, but TBH I really don't think we'd be doing any better had Rafa still been here. I never thought I'd say it, let alone type it out, but I was embarrassed to be on the Kop today, and be associated with our fans.…

.. I should surely not be refused entry to the forum because a multitude of non-subscribers are viewing it? Does the server not distinguish between subscribers and non-subscribers? I don't mean to sound snotty about it because I'm not (particularly) and it wouldn't stop me subscribing. It is galling nonetheless that I can't get on the forum when it's already packed with non-subscribers.

Were by far the better team over the full 90 minutes and fully deserved to win and played football the way Liverpool teams used to play football. I can only dream of a Liverpool team playing football like that and you probably have to go back to Evans days to find it The most telling thing for me was the stats between the 80th and 85th minutes when they had 65% of the possession when they were 2-1 up. I really hope they stay up and its great to see football being playerd the way it should well done Blackpool.

Sorry this isn't football related, but was wondering if anybody on here could offer any... I live 'round the corner from Derby Park in Bootle and for quite a while now there's been this lad (I say lad but he's nearly the same age as my father) who would regularly spend his days there. His name's Tommy and he's the most inoffensive fella you could meet. He's never asked anybody for any money, just drank his cider until he could get back to the hostel or wherever it was he was staying that night. About 6 months or so ago, he got set upon by a gang of hardcases - sorry, cowardly shithouses. He was taken to hospital. My father was walking his dogs in the park las…

OKay in the Times Amid the wailing and the gnashing of teeth, one fact went largely unnoted in the stormy aftermath of Liverpool’s Carling Cup defeat by Northampton Town last week. Only 22,577, at least 4,000 of them from Northampton, witnessed it. That means that Anfield achieved 49.9 per cent occupancy and if questions need to be asked as to whether that constitutes a ground half-full or half-empty, consider that Liverpool attracted a crowd of 41,780 for a Carling Cup tie at home to Cardiff City in October 2007, at a time when the first pennies were only beginning to drop about the ruinous nature of Tom Hicks and George Gillett Jr’s ownership. In February 2007, wh…

Can't put the link up. Those bastards on the BBC had it linked to the Mirror on their rumours column but the link took me to that shitty scum red top. :telloff: Didn't even read it but the gist of the rumour on the BBC was, Jovanovic, play me or i may leave. Of course it is only a rumour but why are players not prepared to fight for their place. It's not like the lad has been in sparkling form.

He says we shouldn't be rushing into a sale of the club just to placate some disgruntled members of the playing staff. It's about getting the decision right for the long-term apparently. Also says Hodgson should be given the same time as the previous managers to work with the team. Can't post as I'm on my phone, sorry.
