Thought to make it easier to find stories we could have a thread for them? I've only posted today's new stories and have avoided certain publications for the obvious reasons. 27th October, 2010 Mirror: Gerrard backs Torres Telegraph: Liverpool to steer clear of big money signings in January Independent: Hodgson to be denied big signings in January

Feel free to delete if there's already a thread on this but I did search for at least eight seconds. Any team news for the next debacle heading our way? Any advance on either a scrappy 1-0 or a 1-1?

Yeah i know, TNF on the MF but the hills have eyes... Just picked up a new HTC Wildfire in red from 3. 500 minutes, 5000 texts, 1gb internet, £20 a month. Anyone looking for a new contract phone pm me, I've got a £30 voucher deal for new 3 customers. Anyone had a go on one of these Wildfire things? The spec looks good. I'm not expecting i-phone technology but I've had a Nokia 6300 for the last 12 months so it'll be an improvement.

Have just drubbed Leeds 4-0 at Elland Road. They look like they have an outstanding chance of coming up automatically this time.

Thought this was a superb read from Jonathan Wilson of the Grauniad: The Question: Are Barcelona reinventing the W-W formation? To counter teams who sit deep, Barça push both full-backs up the pitch – echoing the 2-3-2-3 formation of the 1930s. Football is a holistic game. Advance a player here and you must retreat a player there. Give one player more attacking responsibility and you must give another increased defensive duties. As three at the back has become outmoded as a balanced or attacking formation – though not as a defensive formation – by the boom in lone-striker systems, coaches have had to address the problem of how to incorporate attacking full-backs …

Im really getting sick of these bullshit stories. The press are doing their level best to undermine the club and try to cause unrest with shit stories, its getting tedious. and £12 million? i had to make sure i had'nt stepped through a worm hole back to April 1st. Transfer news: Manchester United are targeting Liverpool's Pepe Reina in a sensational £12m swoop - News - MirrorFootball.co.uk fucking unbelievable what these manc twats will make up. Ive heard the rumors hes unhappy but to entertain hed go to manu for 12 mil is ludicrous

I have fucking had it with him. What the hell is that fucking puffy coat-cape he is wearing? How fucking cold is it in Manchester? Jesus, the Green Bay Packers don't break out the capes until November when the gales blow off the Great Lake. The goddam thing is down to his knees. I tell you,he is fucking Vichy through and through as the bloody Germans circa 1940 wore coats like that minus the stupid swoosh and puffy things that look like water wings sewn together. Has anyone ever seen someone out in public in one of these things? The fucking foie-de-gras munching twat probably plucked the geese himself to stuff the puffy coat. Bring on global warming I s…

It's been a roller coaster of a 48 hours in my life supporting this football club. I will give a summery of the 48 hours when I sober up. I had a drink today for the first time in almost three years, but it was worth the wait. The below image is what I have above my head when I came out the court. I passed the same image/print to Christian Purslow in the court when he turned to me and said, "7-0 to us" What a fucking day.

Is that supposed to be some sort of ninja football attire, to blend in with the pitch and surprise their opponents?

...has asked to leave Utd. Ferguson just confirmed it at a press conference. He looked fucking gutted too. Got to be good news. They'll be utter shite without him. And whether he ends up at City or at Chelsea, it's one less team after Torres.

This is a really interesting (and long) article about the mathematician Marcus du Sautoy. I found it to be a great read (I'll admit- didnt quite get to the end yet) and especially liked the bits about geometry in football. Though he is an Arsenal supporter. In one corner you have Roy Hodgson with unlikely backers in Carra and Stevie and on the other hand you have the majority of the squad rightly against the manager including Torres, Johnson and the only true LFC legend left at the club Pepe Reina. I say this as when CB states in his article that the squad is fully behind the manager that can only come from his sources which are basically Carra, Gerrard and maybe the replaced Purslow. These two players should be thinking about the whole team not there own careers. I believe we need a desperately strong manager to come in and sort it out acutally probably someone in the mould of Houllier or Rafa who were both very str…

I'm only a recent convert to the game, and have adopted the Giants due to having enjoyed visiting San Francisco over the years. They have just made the World Series against... the newly rejuvenated Texas Rangers (sans big fat headed Tom)! Hopefully a sign of the success that can be achieved once the leech is shaken off.

Didn't want to put this on the TNF with it being a public forum (I don't want Universal and Twentieth Century Fox getting it closed down just yet), but didn't want to keep it all to myself either. Get on the following link and you can view a huge catalogue of movies including most of this year's biggest films(Inception, Karate Kid, Kick Ass, Predators etc) all completely free of charge. I've been watching chunks of Pulp Fiction on my dinner in work all week. I'd suggest if you're passing this on to any of the paupers/minge bags from the other forums you do so my PM: iPhone Moviez | iPhoneMoviez.net

11 Prem league games, a 4-0 home twatting of Real (my favourite performance) and that ridiculous Champions league game at Stamford bridge even though obviously we went out. This was my football nirvana.....i literally walked down the street with a smile on my face during this period of the 2008/9 season knowing we were going to twat someone at the wknd and id be able to reharsh great moves in my head. All a bit poetic but thats how it goes down in my world. Where we that good or am i reaching.....was this period just a freak of nature or can we be that good again? Istanbul was pure ecstacy, this period just left me with a warm fuzzy glow inside. * Liver…

Is it a coincidence that the FF has gone to complete shit since the likes of these chaps were banned? Just a thought but wasn't having nutjobs like them around akin to letting loose a rabid staffy into a barrel full of rats? Ok, maybe Momo's a bad example considering his epic 'outing' and his multiple personalities but you get my drift. Better the devil you know?

Given that we haven't actually won a game in over a month, do you think Roy will treat this game with a bit more importance and play a strong team? Napoli are 4th in Serie A and so will prove a much harder test then most teams we'll meet in any stage of this competition. It will certainly be 2 defensive midfielders here so what can we expect from this game? Another loss? A hard fought draw? A fantastic attacking performance full of guile and passion resulting in a 2-0 win? Another loss?

LONDON — The silent darkness of John W. Henry’s suite at the Intercontinental Hotel is pierced by the ping of an Apple laptop booting up. It’s 6:32 a.m. last Friday, and as the soft light from his computer glows, the angst on the Red Sox principal owner’s face becomes clearer. “I couldn’t sleep last night,’’ says the barefoot Henry, sipping a bottle of water. “There have just been too many twists and turns.’’ Shadowing Henry on the day that New England Sports Ventures will acquire the Liverpool Football Club is a stomach-churning roller coaster ride. The $476 million deal for the legendary team, which is in the throes of its worst season in 57 years, has been …

I'm looking forward to finally going to Anfield this season now. I decided in the Summer to boycott the match while those two parasites remained in charge but after today's magnificent result I can end my self imposed exile and go the match again. Fuckin' lovely!
