So here we are 30 odd minutes away from the Europa League draw. Looking at the teams left in this compertition there is no reason why we should not win this compertition. Pot One: Atletico Madrid, Liverpool, Sevilla, Porto, Villarreal, CSKA Moscow, PSV Eindhoven, Zenit St Petersburg, Juventus, Sporting, Stuttgart, Alkmaar. Pot Two: Steaua Bucharest, Lille, Dynamo Kiev, Anderlecht, Bayer Leverkusen, Paris Saint-Germain, Club Brugge, Palermo, Getafe, Besiktas, Manchester City, Sampdoria. Pot Three: Sparta Prague, AEK Athens, FC Metalist Kharkiv, Levski Sofia, Rosenborg, Salzburg, CSKA Sofia, Odense, Napoli, Borussia Dortmund, Dinamo Zagreb, BATE Borisov.…

Has the Chief Executive of the PFA made any comment on the antics of Javier Mascherano and Asmir Begovic following their decision to go on 'strike'?

Inter: Cesar, Chivu, Lucio, Samuel, Maicon, Cambiasso, Zanetti, Stankovic, Sneijder, Eto'o, Milito. Atletico: Gea, Dominguez, Godin, Perea, Ujfalusi, Assuncao, Garcia, Simao, Reyes, Aguero, Forlan. Anyone else watching it? 5 mins gone. Atleti probably should have had a pen, Chivu fouled Simao. Should be a good game.

All the talk of the great goals scored in the Sampdoria Werder Bremen match last night got me thinking about some of my favourite LFC related goals. Here are a few of mine. If we have enough interest perhaps we can compile a list of the MF's top 5 goals. In no particular order: 1. Robbie Fowler v SK Brann 2. He won it from Brock. 3. McMoneyman 4. Did it hit his shin? 5. Right. Looking forward, not back. I'd sooner go on Redcafe than the ff today so here's a thread for Thursday. We'll probably set up in a classic GH/Rafa European away defensive formation looking for pace on the counter. I don't think Nano has got the legs to play that role at the moment and we'll need him against West Brom. We really aren't spoiled for choice in attack without him though. As bad as Dorm was there's an argument that this game should suit him. This will be tough but I reckon we'll make it. Away goal - preferably in the first half will be vital. I would go with Pepe Kelly Carra Skrtel Aurelio Poulson Gerrard Maxi Cole Jova …

Greetings friends in the Members Club. Sit down and have a cigar. Now, I wish to ask the opinions of the esteemed members regarding this lovely forum. Now, as far as I was concerned, the MF was purely a way of having football chat in a more civilised environment than the mong-laden FF. There are however more and more GF style threads appearing and I thought it would be best to ask the members if this is something to be encouraged or discouraged. It is my opinion that GF threads are not necessary in the MF as the GF is still the GF. Obviously, there are occasions where the privacy that the MF offers may be used for these things and thats fine, but i don't see the need…

I know some people (understandably) won't want to play due to the depressing financial state of the club, but I'm trying to stay positive for as long as possible about the team (as opposed to the club) this season. Therefore, what would you consider to be the deals that made the best of the bad situation we're currently in? This sort of stuff is being mentioned on various other threads, but I thought I'd give it a home for the next week. We can then compare the fantasy with the reality when the window closes. My view is that the priority is central midfield, very closely followed by centre forward and the left flank. I would therefore like to see Mascherano, Kuyt, Luc…

Bellamy... 1 2

City blocked his move to Spurs, and said to him he couldn't join a top six club. So the next day, he went in and said "Liverpool want me, I'll go there." City: "We told you, no top six club". Bellamy: "They finished 7th" City: "It's still no." So he ended up at Cardiff. Shame, he'd have been ideal for the current system. Fuckin City.

Here is the betting thread for Trabzonspor v Liverpool. I've thrown in some generous odds on Cole, Jovanovic and Poulson to score. I've also thrown in a very very generous Gerrard to score a penalty bet and the usual Carra to score for Liverpool but this time he is 500/1. As always good luck.

This whole Mascherano thing has properly pissed everyone off, and rightly so but why should it just be allowed to happen? Imagine going into work and doing fuck all, putting your feet on the desk and telling everyone your "not in the right frame of mind to work". When the boss comes in - you leave without word and disappear. What would happen to you? Mascherano is paid £75,000 a week to play football for Liverpool FC. Now correct me if im wrong - but he's not actually completing the requirements of his contract if he refuses to play - so why is he not being fined by the club? Discuss

I have promised my son to take him to a match at Anfield in the Prem some time after Christmas. What is the best way for me to sort out a pair of tickets without having to resort to the glorified touts that are sports travel companies?

Who do you follow then and are they any good? I can't hate Robbie Savage because he's too funny to hate, but he's such a moron. His tweets are like reading the scribblings of a four year old retard. He's the only genuine footballer I've come across so far.

Did you get on with them? Do you still knock around with any? I've got back in touch with a few on Facebook and there's a reunion next month but I can't think of anything worse, most of them were boring cunts. I've recently managed to swerve a wedding too from a lad I used to knock around with. Like I'm going to drive to Yorkshire to the wedding of a painter and decorator who wears purple dungarees.

I've repeatedly seen a familiar pattern when he's in the starting line up. When we are on the ball, particularly either centre backs and he comes short, he very rarely receives the ball. After being bypassed because he's come short, we end up being a man short in the middle of the park. Our centrebacjs then punt it long. Discuss.

I though he was brilliant for Arsenal Barca must of also thought it so why do our fans not want him? Or Roy? I really think he could add something to our squad even if he is just backup hes class and proven Prem quality. I know youtube but i think its shows him in a real light. It's quite clear the lad isn't fit, not one bit and he looks completely out of ideas when he gets the ball. Martin Tyler made the point about giving him match fitness, but at the moment he's just being played for playing sake. Fernando can produce a moment of quality at any given time, but not on this form, and not consistently either. So what do we do? IMO he needs time in reserves, even if we've got to fucking book 5 friendlies in a month against Rochdale Under 12's he needs playing time but he can't have it in the league, because we are practically playing with 10 men. I don't think his attitude should be brought into question, I genuinely feel the lad has fuck…

Here's the betting thread for Liverpool v the Millionaire Mercenaries. Last 'cash booster' for a while. I think I've caught everyone, this is your last chance. If you have 120 or less credits before you bet on this then place them on 'cash booster' and as long as we do not have a player red carded during the game it will pay out. If anyone does a 'joke hole' then it doesn't pay out. No private bets in the 'cash booster' please or I can't pay it out. As always bets to follow and good luck.

Is anyone else concerned by the rumours that the American owners are still seeking refinancing elsewhere and have approached Barcap? I was always fearful of the involvement of Barcap in the takeover process primarily due to their acquisition of Lehman Brothers' in 2008, and recall there being stories earlier in the year of them being prepared to offer £300m refinancing. If a high valuation has been agreed by all parties (Gillett, Hicks, Barcap and Broughton) and put on the club and no buyers are found by the 6th of October, then I am sure RBS will be more than happy for the risk to be passed onto Barcap, with the club not going into administration. Barcap co…
