I am still fucked off about yesterday. It is hard to watch us at the moment as we are just too slow to get the ball forward and there's absolutely no pressure on the ball when we lose it, our press has completely gone. These are absolutely shite and they don't look to have any goals in them, so if we score, we should win - but I thought that against WBA, Fulham, Brighton and Newcastle and we walked away with 4 points. I think there will be a few changes in this one - although I suspect Klopp's team will be much different to the one I would pick. I don't normally put my team and what I think Klopp's team will be on these threads, but I think I will today. If M…

So if we don’t sign a centre back, what you thinking?

It feels a long time since we've said this, but this is a fucking massive game. We are not looking great right now and fuck knows how we get out of it. I am hoping the "big game" aspect will get us going as we've not struggled in these supposedly tougher games. We seem to have real issues getting up for the lesser matches. The problem in my mind is I am convinced our problems originate at the back. We are deeper than we used to be, we are not winning the ball as high up the pitch, we are missing Fabinho's midfield interceptions and I think our full backs are crossing from different parts of the pitch, because they're a little closer to the centre backs than they were. …

I used to enjoy the cups, but they don't really cross my mind any more aside from assuming the 1st team has a week off. It's probably fair to do so this year, but clearly it's not a 2021 thing. With what happened there in the league cup last season and the league this season, i would like to go and kick the shit out of them. but i am not expecting that. Not getting beat is all we can hope for. I also have no idea of the format - i have it in my head there has to be a result on the night, but i might be wrong about that, is that later in the competition? So onto the team, I am expecting everyone changed and it will give klopp the chance those 2 ce…

Bit of a long one. When my mum and dad split up she bunged me some money separate for emergencies and for her funeral and his when the time came. No issue to me at the time. I had debts but was earning enough to pay them. Now I can't, I was earning about 30k a year I'm now earning about 1200 quid a month. The problem is I now look like I have savings, the money isn't mine. To make it worse if I return the money it'll look highly suspect. Any ideas?

The pressure is on now. JUST FUCKING WIN. Christmas has been really poor for us, 5 points from those 3 games isn't good enough. We need to step the fuck up and start playing with the intensity we've been known for for the last few years. It's time to take Jones out of the firing line and milner isn't the answer to that. Alisson, Trent, Phillips, fabinho, robbo, Henderson, thiago, Gini, mane, Salah, firmino. These should be easy. They're just a poorer version of us. We are better all over the park - with the exception of centre back. 0-2 mane 2.

We need to buck our ideas up. Too often recently we've been too passive in games. We took 1-0 on Sunday after about 30 minutes. Fulham and Brighton were also games where we just didn't seem up for it. 3 absolutely fucking shit teams and 6 points thrown away. For me just don't seem to have that aggression we've shown in previous seasons against the fodder. Perhaps the injuries at the back are making us more cautious, but it's a balance we need to fix. There's rumours there'll be loads of changes (Shaq, chamberlain, Minamino), I'm not convinced of that myself. And there's talk thiago is back, but I don't see how he starts the game after such a period out. I thi…

I thought I would get this thread in early as it's Christmas week. I'm hoping to come out of the ballot in this one - I've a feeling this could be our last game in front of crowds. We could have done without a change of manager there, but ultimately they're fucking shite, so as long as we're motivated correctly, I see absolutely nothing to see why we can't have a comfortable win. This is one of the best Christmas programmes in terms of rest I think we've ever had. The change around between this and Newcastle is 3 days and then we've 5 till Southampton. I expect us to change a few players between the 1st 2 games and to be best XI against Southampton. But the …

Removed all mentions of Liverpool from his profile ... I'm guessing the Wolves rumours must be true. Best for the lad really , he's been really poor ever since he chopped his dreads.

Another one, just fucking win. Let's not waste that big win last night be not following through. I don't know what our record is like there, but I always feel like it's bad - but the results just never stick in my mind. I think back when I was going everywhere, this ground was my least favourite (well outside of of the obvious hate zones). Getting there was awful, it's such a fucking shithole, the pubs are shite, I don't feel anything positive about it at all. It was hell when it was them and Wimbledon sharing it. And if palace got relegated we'd end up getting them in a cup. Just fuck off selhurst park. And now it's the place where the Owl nests. So onto the…

It's Christmas Eve here where I live... and far away from me, in that Liverpool, Christmas Eve has just been ushered in too. In this weird time in the world, it's easy and understandable to forget and forgo certain pleasures.... The last time The Mighty Reds went into Christmas as League leaders AND Champions, I reckon it was back in the days when I still used to get excited about opening presents on Christmas morning. I think those were better times, all round, but an ageing cunt like me would say that wouldn't I? Still, in this the most cuntworthy of years, I hope we can all take a moment - VAR and all other modern footbal…

So I think for the next month or so we need to get focused on the just fucking win mantra. Every match is a cup final and stop sleep walking into some games as we have been doing. Perhaps klopp and his fitness & medical teams need to work out a plan between them on how we manage the days between games. Be that more rest or we need to find a slightly less intensive way of playing. The team looks shattered , players are dropping like flies and no sooner does one get fit and another (or the same one Shaq & keita) gets injured. I'm bothered about this one. Partly because it's against a direct rival (although we do seem to get up for the biggest games), bu…

Well this is a funny one I think. This really should be easy, but I can't help but think we'll make it tough for ourselves. And it's a reasonable rest period from the Muriburiland game, but with spurs on weds I expect a bit of rotation. These are fucking crap though, so there's an option to win and an option to win really well. I'll take either. We can't consider losing points here. Kelleher, Williams, fabinho, matip, robbo, Gini, hendo, Jones, mane, firmino, Jota. I'll be disappointed with anything less the 1-3, but considering this is the club who gave us the owl and the konch, 0-9 would feel more fair.

Fucking weird kick off time. It's obvious there'll be lots of changes, but we've some players coming back to fitness, so I can see them playing the opening 45 mins with the 5 subs available. Whatever team we pick, I'd like to think they can do enough not to lose. I'm not sure if kelleher will play or if they'll choose to give him a mental rest, it must have been some week for the kid. My guess though is he'll play. Kelleher, Trent, Kostas, Williams, fabinho, keita, clarkson, cain, minamino, Jota, origi. It'll be an open game with us winning 1-3. Jota, origi, mini.

Well this feels like an eternity between games. It's still 3 days away! The players must be as grateful for the mental relief as much as the physical one. I like wolves as a team, they're one of the few I genuinely enjoy watching, although as VAR kills my footballing spirit, I don't think I've actually watched them yet this season except on motd etc. Their results are a bit up and down and surely they can't be quite as strong without Jimenez as he's so important to them. But they certainly make you work for your points. I think anyone who's fit will/can play, so this will be as strong a team as klopp can put out with being able to rest the lot on Tuesday. The…

Well here we go again, I can't be fucking arsed. The echo this morning are creating the idea fabinho may be left out as matip was on Saturday. I'm not having that. I've got to say I'm concerned matip didn't at least make the bench, which makes me think there may be more to it than they're telling us. So I reckon we'll go like this. Alisson, Jones, robbo, matip, fabinho, Henderson, Gini, Salah, Jota, firmino, mane. We've got 5 clear days to the next game, so for me it's just a question of making sure we don't lose anyone tomorrow. I think Ajax are pretty crap, but I think we'll give this our full attention unlike last week, so I see a…

Another mental turn around from the last game. At least we rested a few. I am not sure how we will line up - I don't think trent is close? My guess of a team is Alisson, Milner, Fabinho, Matip, Robbo, Gini, Jones, jota, mane, firmino, salah. I think these are pretty crap - I know they seem to be a bit of a hipsters choice because nobody had heard of their manager when he came in and they pass the ball a bit, but I think they're just awful in the last 3rd. We will still need to be much better than Wednesday, but I think we will and we'll edge a low scoring game. 0-1, Jota.

Back to the CL. I think where possible klopp will do some rotation. Our next match is 12.30 on Saturday, so as much as 3 points is great because it gets us through, I'm sure we'll rest players. It was a cruise last time against these, I don't think it will be so easy this time, both because they'll be better and also because we'll swap players out. So my guess of a team Alisson, Williams, Williams, Phillips, Kostas, Henderson, Jones, Gini, Salah, minamino, origi. 3-2 Salah, origi 2.

I'd like to say thank for the internationals are over, but I am fearful of how the game will go at the weekend, decimated would be understating it. I think our unbeaten home record will be at risk here. So there's no real clue where we'll be in terms of play availability. I'm assuming henderson and robbo will both be fit. And I've no idea what's happening with alisson. He was another who supposedly tested positive and while he didn't play last night, he seems.to have been on the bench (or at least was according to my score app). So best guess of a team Alisson, milner, fabinho, matip, robbo, Henderson, Gini, Shaq, jota, firmino, mane - 424/442 with Shaq …

Hi everyone, hope you're doing well. I have started my own podcast over the last few months as a weekly distraction from the weird and wacky times of 2020. The topic is football. Of all shapes and sizes. I have kept back on promoting this on TLW (thanks for permission Dave) because I knew I was getting a guest on. I think this is the most interesting show we've done so far as TLW's own Stu Monty talks about life in the semi-pro leagues, how COVID has affected their seasons and we also go on to talk about PPV, Project Big Picture and a revamp of the Europa League. Would really appreciate a listen and a subscription. This is a new lockd…
