Quite a few for me but I just realised that in Tiny Dancer by Elton John, Blue jean baby, L.A. lady, seamstress for the band and not "sings just for the band". Bit of a shit one and I'm sure you cats have much better but there you go. 20 odd years I've sung the wrong line.

Has anyone on here read it? Let's be clear, I'm not a nazi and I don't want this thread invaded by the usual suspects (I mean the political debaters on here, not the Germans). It's just that I'm getting more and more intrigued by WW2 as I get older. I can't get enough of it and was wondering whether or not it's worth a read. Does it shed any more light on Hitler's life and thinking than the hundreds of documentaries that have been made about him? Is it a boring read? Were you glad you read it? Sickened by it? All that kind of shit. I need the GF to decide for me. Should I read it or give it a swerve? It should also be said that if I go to the library to…

I fancy a career change and need some inspiration. Any ideas of some interesting careers? Or maybe just ways to make money? Ideally I'd be a golfer, shame I'm rubbish at golf.

This is thread about grammar. Things that annoy you or more positively things that you love. For example, people who confuse I.e with e.g. That sort of thing. Personally I love a semi colon, makes my day if I get a chance to use one. Anyway I’ll probably be the owner poster but I’ll have an outlet.

This seems to be becoming an ever hotter (excuse the pun) political issue these days. The government have made their most outspoken criticism of virtually anyone or anything today, with regard to the response of some airlines to proposals to tax/curb their carbon emissions. Recycling is suddenluy affecting nearly everyone as local authorities fulfill their new legal obligations and roll out the recycling bins. Also, the weather itself is clearly changing for all to see, having jsut left the hottest year in Britain since records began and entered one that's mooted to be hotter still. Having said all that, it's not an issue I ever hear people discussing or getting pa…

As fine and thread-worthy an episode Trash of the Titans is, Lemon of Troy is the one above all others for me. Everything in it - every line and all the animation - is just perfect: from the wet cement, to Shelbyville Manhattan's attractive cousin, to Milhouse becoming invisible, to Rocky VII-Adrian's Revenge, to Bart using aerosols as jetpacks, to "Hark to the Tale of Nelson", to a nice refreshing glass of turnip juice. It's just perfect. Shitty YouTube has let me down, though: I could only find a few clips.

Why haven't Nigeria managed to defeat Boko Harum? The world needs to wake up to the conflicts on this continent. Beautiful continent absolutely torn apart by complete bastards. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-57117296

I realised, with great sadness today, that revenge negging is endemic on TLW. One of the vilest crimes known to mankind, and it happens on here without anyone saying anything nowadays. Now Fuge is back, I expect a concerted efford to hunt down all revenge neggers and cock choke them right in their little weasel mouths. I'll start a list of the the filthy bastards. 1) Welsh. Revenge negger extraordinaire. A stain on all his family. 2) Fowlers God. Captain Turdseye will back me up. Wilfully revenge negged us both the other day. To be fair, he does seem a little subnormal mentally, but that's no excuse. 3) Melons. It is with great sadness that I announce …

The more I watch The Shiled, the more I think this guy is one of the most - if not the most - complex, conflicted and fascinating characters in the history of television. A combination of the writing and constantly top-class acting by Goggins makes him a dramatic tour de force. Because of the depth and the nuanced touches I find it easy to try and imagine his backstory. He treats Vic like a father figure and hides behind his badge which makes me think he was probably bullied by his dad when he was a kid. I reckon he saw his mother or other members of his family abused by his dad which is why he's so obsessed with the idea of his own family being 'perfect', of having …

Finally the golf season starts again, and we can upgrade the thread title from Golf 2022 to Golf 2024 ( I cant be the only one annoyed that we did not have a Golf 2023 thread) Really close at the top of the leaderboard after the first day at The Sentry tournament.

A thread for restaurants, bars, attractions, parks, anything really that you like but that's off the beaten track a bit and maybe a lot of people don't know about. I'll kick off with a couple. Woolton Cinema - a traditional independent cinema tucked away in Woolton Village, went again recently for the first time in about 20 years and it was class. About six quid for a ticket and they still have an intermission in the middle where you can buy a Cornetto, highly recommended. Rococo - Coffee shop on Lord Street next to BHS, it's unbelievably easy to miss as it's basically just a small doorway. But walk upstairs and the place is ace, a big sized coffee shop with a co…

Fucking boss this. Crime drama about Dublin drugs doings which I only got to know about thanks to the Kin thread on here. Another great telly shout by the GF. Get onto it. Starts off naff as fuck, reminds me of Shameless, but gets better and better. Near the end of season 3 already.

A site search threw up neko's Gardening thread but that's way to serious for me and I cant even dream to match his professional skills but I do love my garden. Maybe there are others out there who feel the same way or are just putting their toe in the water..... Anyway, we've had a good day today and I've been out continuing my Spring clear up but its really noticeable how far behind things are compared even to last year. I'm planning to replant the bottom of our garden and bulk out some of the other borders that are looking a bit lost at the moment. My veggies were a washout last year but if the weather brightens up in the next week or two I may put some of …
