I've just realised how many quality forumites are not ST holders. Let me sell it to you: we get our own cunt-free forum that is starting to take shape nicely. The football debate in there is (weird, I know) reasoned, reasonable, passionate and engaging. There's no bickering or abuse, no repetitive and dull threads where everyone says the same thing over and over again and generally a level of ownership that has been missing from the FF for years. You can also debate other stuff too, if you like. It really does feel like the forum used to feel back in the day. It's two quid a month, people. Not earth shattering by any means for the hours of entertainment many of you ge…

It's gonna kick the fuck off again. https://edition.cnn.com/2021/04/12/europe/ukraine-zelensky-front-lines/index.html Ukraine's President heads to the trenches as Russia masses its troops EXCLUSIVE by Matthew Chance, CNN Updated 1152 GMT (1952 HKT) April 12, 2021 On the front lines in eastern Ukraine (CNN)Ankle-deep in thick black sludge, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky moves stealthily with his troops in single file through the warren of trenches and tunnels that form the tense front lines in the east of his country. It feels more like the early 20th century than a modern conflict, with tired, nervous …

Pretty outrageous that we don't have a thread on this little saucepot. Whatever you think of the wedding fuss, she is quite outrageous. I bet any future knight who has to kneel at her wasteline is going to struggle to stand up straight again.

Why are they in Uefa Competitions, and Eurovision Song Contests? A simple answer will suffice.

Listened to this Guardian Podcast before : Guardian Focus Podcast: Examining the British far right | World news | guardian.co.uk In England the far right seem a bit of a joke, I can't ever see the BNP or EDL taking off seriously. But in the likes of France and the Netherlands, it looks like it is gathering more support. And unlike Nick Griffin, I get the impression a lot of people in, say, France see the likes of Marine Le Pen as a credible politician. So, what do you think of it then? Where is it going to end? Will we see another openly fascist country in Europe anytime soon?

As fine and thread-worthy an episode Trash of the Titans is, Lemon of Troy is the one above all others for me. Everything in it - every line and all the animation - is just perfect: from the wet cement, to Shelbyville Manhattan's attractive cousin, to Milhouse becoming invisible, to Rocky VII-Adrian's Revenge, to Bart using aerosols as jetpacks, to "Hark to the Tale of Nelson", to a nice refreshing glass of turnip juice. It's just perfect. Shitty YouTube has let me down, though: I could only find a few clips.

Is there anyone pro-monarchy on here? Other then a boost to tourism, is there any reason for your support for them and their public funding?

A site search threw up neko's Gardening thread but that's way to serious for me and I cant even dream to match his professional skills but I do love my garden. Maybe there are others out there who feel the same way or are just putting their toe in the water..... Anyway, we've had a good day today and I've been out continuing my Spring clear up but its really noticeable how far behind things are compared even to last year. I'm planning to replant the bottom of our garden and bulk out some of the other borders that are looking a bit lost at the moment. My veggies were a washout last year but if the weather brightens up in the next week or two I may put some of …

It's not yet the twenty five years that most historians say is the minimum amount of time to assess the impact of something, but I was reading her speech from the 1980 Tory conference (in The Guardian's excellent series of the 14 greatest speeches of the Twentieth Century) and it made think about her legacy. I still think she was a spiteful, callous bitch, but I now think many things she did were right: reducing the power of the unions, encouraging home ownership, tackling inflation, privatising some of the national industries. However, I also think she may have fucked us in the process. Her extreme policies made us expect low taxation and she nearly destroyed hea…

About 4 rashers of smoked bacon (fried or grilled) 2 fried eggs 2 sausages A scoop of baked beans A decent portion of mushrooms (fresh ones cooked in butter, not those briney things you often get) A few grilled tomatoes (not the tinned stuff) 2 slices of buttered toast Tea Orange juice That's it. No black pudding. Black pudding is congealed blood, and has no place on your plate. Also, no pipetting drops of fancy stuff onto the eggs, which I think I saw Heston Blumenthal doing when he tarted up the Little Chef Olympic breakky (not that I wouldn't mind trying his version of it, mind you).

Ok so we've had the roughest pub thread telling us what places to avoid and what places to go for a bit of violent entertainment. However, what pubs would you recommend, either where you live or where you have visited whilst away from home? Some good ones in town, the Fly in the Loaf, Philharmonic, Ye Cracke and the Freshfield in Formby. The Fishermans Rest in Birkdale is nice. even though it's a Wetherspoons the new one in Lime Street station has been done out really well. Went to a decent Micro pub in Crosby called the Corner Post on Friday. The Pioneer bar is decent too. Anyone got any decent recommendations for London boozers which are non pound in the p…

Really heartbreaking story. One of my closest friends lost her brother last week and is obviously absolutely devastated. He has 2 young kids (age 4 and 7). I was talking to her yesterday and she was in tears telling me how they'd broken the terrible news to the children, specifically the 7 year old. I asked how he'd taken it and what he'd said and, still in tears, she told me the kid had replied "Can I have his phone?" I don't think I've ever struggled so hard to keep a straight face.

Simple question. Personally I think he's been a disaster so far and I want shut now. I respect people who think he's doing a good job and realise he's hamstrung to a certain extent by a very hostile press and also his own MPs but I don't see him ever getting close to winning an election so he's got to go for me. He might have the backing and resonate with the Labour membership but I don't think that translates to Labor voters. Things are about to get a lot worse than they are now under that cunt Johnson and we desperately need someone to step up and take him on and I don't think Corbyn with McDonnell and Dianne fucking Abbot as his generals can do that. Cameron could…

Americans - Season 2 Epis 1+2 have been a but sloppy. I enjoyed season 1, but so far this is a 6.5/10. Hannibal - Season 2 I started off not loving the first season, but I went back to it and I was really glad I did. It finished off at around 7.5/10. Season 2 is better: it's worth a solid 8/10.

A 9 year old girl was shot dead in her home last night in Dovecot. Most likely in retaliation to a 28 year old girl getting shot in her home in Old Swan a few nights ago. A woman in her 50's was stabbed to death in a car-park in Kirby yesterday. Last week a 22 year old lad was shot dead in the Dingle. 15 years on from Rhys Jones being shot and it's as bad as ever

i dont post much on here, put this discussion i had with a work mate on the night shift is apprioate for the GF. Okay so we were talking about good looking women who have gone to prison, i mean he gave me the examples of foxy knoxy, the bird who killed her 2 kids in america and even though she hasnt been convicted the bird who poisoned the pateints in stockport. I kinda agree with him and i said it if it wasnt for the risk of being killed i would sleep with these women. He then went on to call them convicts i would like to fuck (CILF's) anyone else agree or has my mate had one too many joints in his life?

Think we need out own dedicated thread for the president elect. I had a look and there doesn't seem to be a thread to bump about Joe like there was for Trump. Unsurprisingly there is one for his daughter Ashley dating back to 2009. Anyway, think this is going to be one of the most watched terms of office of any president. Not only is he going to be picking up the shitty baton of Covid, he's also going to have to deal with unifying the country and the aftershock of Trump. Added to that, time or age really isn't on his side for him to stand for a second term. So, I'll get the ball rolling with this. Deb Haaland: Historic Native American '…
