Get in!!! We look like a team again!!! The movement was great going forward, especially in the second half; and Gerrard was fucking great (as was The Murph)! That sets us up nicely for Sunday - come on you Reds!!!

Read this in the Sunday Times article on MO; ST " Given a choice, would Liverpool take the FA Cup or 4th place in the Premiership and with it Champions League football next season ?" GH " The fans would prefer the FA Cup, and the players have a liking for it as well." ST " And you ?" "Both," came the quick reply. So there you are, we're all wrong, but GH has got his eye on the main prize, simple once you know !

Goal: Benayoun Assist: Aurelio Man of the match: benayoun Reina - 8 made the saves he had to make and looked assured all night. Arbeloa - 7 much better than he has been of late. dealt with Marcelo (was that his name) in the first half and Robben in the second. Skrtel - 7 Has he been playing on the left side of central defence recently? He was right side last night and could have played in his slippers. Carragher - 8 mature performance. Tackled, covered and ordered the defence. Captains performance Aurelio - 8 linked up well with Riera and great delivery for the goal. Defended well against Robben, their only threat. wrap him up in cotton wool an…

...For the travelling fans of FC Avangard Kursk and FC Luch-Energiya Vladivostok. Two teams who are in the Russian First Division this year. When they face each other the fans will have to travel about 4200 miles as the crow flies. That's some fucking trek, that is. Anyone know of any worse than that or is that the most hellish away trip known to man?

A real alternative to Women's football

Since we will all be going cold turkey now the season is over, I know people will be looking for football to watch but there is only Women's football on. However people there is an alternative, look at what we are missing out on? http://news.bbc.co.uk/cbbcnews/hi/n...600/4614641.stm Hopefully this phenomenon will spread, maybe they could play on Everton's pitch if it ends up like it did last year?

We got the call today for Basle tickets, and only one of us went to Moscow (out of four) so i reckon if you applied early (when draw was made like us) then you have still got a chance. Good luck to one and all, and see yer over there. (I will be the one pissed in the gutter with a 16 foot toblerone)

The shortlist for this year's UEFA European Club Footballer of the Year awards is dominated by Premier League players. Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool all reached the Champions League semi-finals last season, with United overcoming Chelsea on penalties in the Moscow-hosted final. That is reflected in the shortlist, announced today by UEFA, with 17 players from the 25-strong shortlist currently playing in England's top flight. Last year's Champions League top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo, Liverpool's Fernando Torres and Chelsea's Frank Lampard will all be leading contenders for the award. Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Carles Puyol are also in contention. …

Do Sky still do this? If so, it doesn't seem half as popular as when it first started. I think Sky really missed a trick with this. What they realised was fans were getting fed up of listening to Andy Gray and Martin Tyler churning out the same comments week in, week out - such as Gray saying Gerrard has to be centre midfield, Rafa not celebrating goals on the touchline, zonal marking is rubbish etc etc. What some fans wanted to listen to was fans who knew more about their own clubs, rather know having a general view about football as a game. I think if they put on knowledgable fans, with insight, who understood the club this feature really could have hit of…

UEFA.com - Community - Team of the Year Here's mine: UEFA.com - Community - Team of the Year Was pretty shocked to see Lukaku in there alongside Tevez, Drogba, Eto'o, Milito, Messi, Villa, Higuain, Suarez and Forlàn. One thing's for sure, that 'boy' is gone in the summer.

Listen to this, then. An absolutely incredible bloke - the first black professional footballer in the world... in Victorian England. He also held the world 100 yard dash record, played cricket and other sports too. Son of a Methodist missionary, died an alcoholic running a pub and got his wife's sister knocked up. Amazing story.
