What if Liverpool finish fifth (or lower)? | Liverpool - Times Online Will Torres leave if Liverpool don’t finish fourth? Where would failure to finish in the top four leave Benitez? Will Tom Hicks and George Gillett be forced to sell? What if you walk through a storm but the golden sky at the end of it is no more than the light of a false dawn? Twelve months ago, Liverpool laid waste to Manchester United at Old Trafford. It seemed difficult times were behind them and, at last, a new day would begin for the club. The Premier League title looked possible for Rafa Benitez and his side and Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres were an attacking tandem not even the b…

Issue 94 is out this weekend for the Southampton game. You'll be able to pick it up from the usual people in the usual places before and after the game, or you can order online from our webshop. All postal subscriptions will be sent out on Monday and Tuesday of next week, while those of you who normally buy from WH Smiths in town will be able to pick up a copy there later in the week (probably Friday). Here's the link to buy it online: Here's the link to subscribe for five issues: To subscribe to the digital version click here.

Unfortunately I couldn't get to the game so have only seen the highlights on ITV but here are a few points I would like to share. Jones was solid, as expected. If he plays in the next few games and does well, could we extend his loan before the transfer window closes? Biscan has done well but his errors will get punished one of these days and more likely than not it will be against scum or the arse, cos they will punish your mistakes. Henchoz should play in the middle alongside Sami and Semmy should be given a longer run at right back. Youngsters sometimes have a bad game (nobody had been playing particularly well when he was subbed against Man City). Look at what…

For me, judging on who we are being linked with (a big IF we buy any of these) Manager - houllier - but needs to look seriously at his approach to certain games. this could be the KEY difference without needing too many new faces. kirkland carra hyypia/mexes/boumsong/gallas henchoz riise Diouf murphy gerrard kewell/duff/VDV etc baros/cisse owen subs: jerzy hamann diao smicer mellor warnock heskey Although i would get rid of, heskey, smicer, cheyrou, un-abel, babbel, the usual suspects (diomede/vignal.) and get some money in.

Interesting points. Moyes has done well over 12 months but the reservations are well expressed. The same points have been made about the other “candidates” for the Boss’s job. Personally I believe GH deserves at least another year and hope that our editor is made to eat his words following the latest attack. All the candidates put forward in this debate have something in common, they have been good over a short period. The question is could they maintain it? I don’t find it surprising that we have had a dip this season. I am still prepared to back GH to get it right and those who come out with the tired “he has taken us as far as he can” should remember th…
