Monday Apr 15: Feels somewhat inappropriate to be as down about the Palace game as I am considering what today is. It’s always a sobering day, especially when you see some of the things posted on twitter by survivors or the families of one of the 97. To be honest, I try and avoid it, which I’m not proud of, but even now after all these years it’s so upsetting and the sense of injustice is as strong as ever, and I didn’t even lose anyone close to me. I never know what to say either, even JFT97 feels kind of hollow now because what does it even mean? There’ll never be justice, I think the only thing we can do is ensure they’re never forgotten, which of course th…

Thought I'd start a thread on this as a few of you have asked about it. Basically, anyone who has an active subscription should not be seeing any ads at all on the site (other than in house ones for t-shirts etc). Subscribers are ad free, so if you are seeing them it's because of the theme you have selected. Go to the bottom of the page and select TLW Subscribers theme. When that's selected you shouldn't be getting any ads showing. If your sub runs out you'll start seeing them and they won't automatically go when you renew, you'll need to scroll down and re-select the TLW Subscribers theme again. Any problems, either post in here or sen…

Work-rate. Incisiveness. Nous. I don't ask for much. This is how it's gonna be. Build from the ground up. After a much improved display and decent result at Fulham, we move onto the second of 4 away games in succession (the first being the trip to Bergamo) when we visit the 'Grand Old Lady'. Like a grand old lady, it's seen better days decades ago and now stinks of piss. Countless times this season, Everton have come up against an equally shit opponent, dragged them down to their level and beaten them through experience. They and Ashley Young got a massive helping hand against Forest, who were denied 3 penalties. Forest's cry-arsing sta…

Rumours have it that this is a done deal. Article from the Mirror detailing his playing style: With the arrival of the January transfer window, Brendan Rodgers will be looking to build on the strong start to the season with a signing or two at Liverpool. And one name he is continually linked with is Basel youngster Mohamed Salah. But is he any good? Would he fit into to Rodgers' system at Liverpool? Here’s Ross Dunbar with everything you need to know about the 21-year-old: Salah has been on the radar of some English and German clubs for well over a year. In fact, the option was on the table for the Egypt international to leave Switzerland over the summe…

We live to fight another day then. Defeat here would have buried us and considering the run we’d been on it wouldn’t have been much of a shock. Fulham is a difficult place to go when they’re at it, but thankfully they weren’t and it was fairly comfortable in the end. The game was still in the balance at half time though so it wasn’t a completely stress free afternoon, but once we got the second goal it was generally without drama and the third goal made it completely safe. In terms of how we played and what it means moving forward, we played ok and no-one has a clue what it means. Winning this doesn’t solve all of our issues but it should go some way to refoc…

It might be the fixture that divides a city but Jurgen Klopp admits that he will not miss everything that surrounds the Merseyside Derby. With the time rapidly ticking down on the tenure of Klopp at Liverpool, questions often arise regarding what certain fixtures have meant to him during his time at the club. With the games coming thick and fast and with Liverpool still in the hunt for a Premier League title, Klopp has often said there will come a time for in depth reflection, but at this stage he mind his focused on more important things. Klopp comes into his 19th and final fixture against Everton having only lost game which came at An…

Plenty of rumours we have bid 70 million euros for him. One thing is for certain, if we sign him this lad is going to be superb and if we don't FSG can get to fuck and he will be shit anyway. I have no idea https://twitter.com/search?q=luis diaz liverpool&src=typed_query&f=live

Looks really comfortable on the ball for a kid. Completely at home in a Wembley final, like the other young fellas. Maybe being the son of a well known player makes him calmer as he’d have been around this stuff his whole life. Another huge prospect.

He was a proper handful when he came on today. Just as the Tory cunts were hoping to coast towards penalties, he just kept running at them and causing problems.

Welcome to Liverpool. Liverpool aiming to sign Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister this week World Cup-winning midfielder, 24, keen to move to Anfield and work with Jürgen Klopp Alexis Mac Allister is set to become Liverpool’s first signing of the summer, with the Anfield club hopeful of concluding a deal this week for the Argentina World Cup winner. Contact between Liverpool and Brighton & Hove Albion has now taken place and midfielder Mac Allister is keen to work with Jürgen Klopp. A release clause in the 24-year-old’s contract means the transfer should progress smoothly, although the value of the deal remains …

Fuck it - we all know it, but saying it makes my willy sting. Well, here goes... Gary Neville is the by some margin the best pundit I've seen on mainstream TV. It sticks in the throat to say it, but he is. Who'd have thunk it,eh? I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'd sooner listen to Gary Neville's assessment of our chances/performance than any of our former players and dare I say it, our own current manager. Neville knows. fuck.

Examples of the utter shitness of modern football are innumerable. The most recent example is the "Ronaldo v Messi" friendly at old shitford last night, where thousands of willing imbeciles queued up to be gleefully fleeced of fifty quid to watch a pointless friendly, marketed as a footballing masterclass, but in reality was a kick-about by 22 millionaires, the two richest of whom were subbed at half time much to the collective disappointment and outrage of said imbeciles. Fuck off.

The Reds season is still alive after a much needed win at Fulham got their title challenge back on track. Goals from Trent, Gravenberch and Jota sunk the Cottagers in what was a more comfortable win than many expected. TLW Editor Dave Usher is joined by Julian Richards and Dan Thomas to look back on this game as well as previewing the midweek trip to Goodison. There's also a heated discussion on refs, VAR, Forest's bizarre statement and the impact officiating has had on this year's Premier League. View full article

I know very little about the fella, but by all accounts (including many supposedly in the know) he just might be our next manager. Good things I’ve read; 1. - He won the league with Sporting Lisbon who are traditionally Portugal’s third strongest team in 2022, and he is on track to do it again this season. Bad things I’ve read; 1. He’s big mates with Mourinho. Anyway, some relevant shit on his coaching ability:
