Who the fuck kidnapped that useless lump and swapped him for the fella that scored that goal? The likeness was uncanny. We will pay the ransom but can we please keep him a few more weeks.

Cisse scored two more today to take his total to 12 in 15 games. I know it's only the French league, but that's pretty impressive; certainly more so than the current incumbent. If we're going to sign him before the end of the season, it's going to take a hefty sum: Auxerre can't do without him.

...cos that sure as hell wasn't H***** who scored that third goal! Only joking- credit to the big man for an excellent goal. With Owen out for a while, he now has one last chance to show that he has a future at Liverpool. A few observations from today's game: Djimi and Diao- I like them both and they always give it 100%. However, neither is anywhere near good enough for LFC. Vlad- excellent when he came on. Could take Diouf's place in midfield. Kewell- we'd be absolutely screwed without him. Hamann- came into his own in the 2nd half. The last 25/30 minutes were excellent. It could've been 5 or 6.

Although it is unlikely that Houllier turns to him, could Jon Otsemobor fill in for Finnan? Is he good enough and ready for the first team. According to the official site, he had an awful game in the reserves this week but then there was a piece from Hugh MacAuley praising him for his improvement (although he did mention that Otsembor needs to work on his defensive game). Any opinions?

At last night's game, saw a guy with a banner in the Anfield Rd stand being 'escorted out' by stewards. Didn't see the banner till late as I was concentrating on the game, and it was only when Mav drew it to my attention that I saw him. The banner was folded at the time - did anyone see what was written on it, and was it this tosser who was threatening to bring one?

Just read Chris B's match report on the Echo website. Anyone who hasn't done so yet definitely should. Check out the bitching about the one who cannot be named! Miaow Chris! PS Dave, don't you reckon this ban on naming our number 8 has just given him more publicity?;)

Sinama-Pongolle may be raw and needs to learn a lot but like Baros he is a constant danger to defences. It was interesting to note the danger he caused in 70 minutes against Steau while the man who replaced him as substitute was no threat whatsoever-again.

From where I was sitting (middle of the Upper Centenary) one of the anti-Houllier protesters holding the banner appeared to have half of his face covered by a scarf. How very brave?

Not sure if anyone else caught this, but as the players were arriving at Anfield, there was a shot of Milan shaking Stevie G's hand. Boy - he has been injured obviously, but he looked one fat lardy for sure! Blown up like a Michelin Man!

I'm guilty of 'reading' you all more than contributing as i don't have internet access until late evening but anyone who knows me will remember me calling for a change of manager during pre-season and especially after the Ajax game. But there are two reasons why I've changed my mind. 1) He's done exactly what we have all called for and changed the sh*** way we used to play into the style of play we've all wanted. After five years of falling asleep in my seat on Saturdays that represents a culture change as big as the one that he forced onto the whole club when he arrived. Portsmouth, Villa and Boro games? Yes we were terrible, but i'm willing to see those as the ne…

Never Thought I'd say this but a very good Brian Reade piece in the mirror about St Mike IF ENGLAND fans were made to realise one thing this week, it's that without the genius that shines from the boot of their young, clean-cut No.10 they have no chance of becoming champions. That it is now more than three years since England last won a game when he was missing from the starting line-up.That there is simply no cover for this match-winning talisman. That without his eye for an opening, nerves of steel, and uncanny timing, we are screwed. So let us pray that Michael Owen is fit for Portugal next summer. Because as we discovered once again with his absence against De…

Ok, lots doing the rounds these past few days about GH's comments. Here's the real story (and no matter how much I read in to everything he says, I'm putting this up for people's benefit and so they can judge themselves. You'll just have to trust my translation from French to English!). The interview appeared in France Football's November 11 edition (a Tuesday). The interview was conducted on Monday November 10. It's about two pages long (if it were in a Sunday broadsheet, it would cover two full pages) and was carried out by Phillipe Auclair. For anyone who wants a look at it, I'll have it with me Sunday. The title of the piece is "Houllier: "We are making pro…

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/funny_old_game/3242602.stm Struggling Liverpool have been boosted by news of a new celebrity fan - the Pope. The club have been seeking divine inspiration following an indifferent start to the season, and now it looks like they might have got it. The revelation was discovered by Liverpool goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek, when he was invited to the Vatican to meet Pope John Paul II, a fellow Pole. Apparently his Holiness likes nothing better than cheering on the Reds whenever they are on the box. Dudek told the Liverpool website: "I spoke to a couple of guys who are very close to the Pope and they told me that he is always wat…
