Before the Bolton game I attended my uncle's funeral, the wake was held in one of Everton's reception rooms (don't ask). I was told to park my car at the back of the Park End. As I drove into the car park at 15:30 the attendant told me to park over to one side as "The Liverpool supporters will be arriving soon and the main car park is reserved for them". A question came to my mind "Who are the reds who park their car at Goodison and keep these bastards solvent". Shame on you.:what:

It is imperative that Stevie G gets a grip. When I saw the two footed takle on Solano I said he's off. Unbelievable the ref did nout. I think the crowd missed it as it was a goal mouth melé. And as the ref reacted to the crowd all day (Ostemabor's booking for example) he then missed it. Had it happened in the centre circle the crowd and bench woulfd have exploded and it would have been automatic red for SG. Now I do not say this was anything but a fully committed attempt to block the ball. It was low and not over the top. The point is tho' you can't do it anymore and SG keeps on doing it. He must be responsible and stop now. It will only hurt the team. …

http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N142954031207-0716.htm Nice idea but it will never happen. Amazing to think that we are still the most succesful club in England but there are no knighthoods in football connected with us. The Mancs have 3, I wonder why?

academy players
by Guest las- 9 replies

What academy players are good enough to play for our first team now and have a long term future at Liverpool ? Semmy ? Welsh ? Foley ? Whitbread ? Warnock ? Potter ? Medjani ? Foy ? Wilkie ? Raven ? What Im getting at is that both the Mancs and Arsenal fielded alot more academy boys in their worthington cup match this week than we did. Should we also try to give more of the kids a chance and if so, what kids are good enough at the moment ? If Welsh wasnt busy with the U-20 wc would he get a chance ? Thanks for any response.

Red rivals chase Kezman Sunday, 07 December 2003 Both Liverpool and Manchester United are chasing PSV Eindhoven star Mateja Kezman according to officials from the Dutch side. The Serbo-Montenegrin international is one of the most sought-after stars around in Europe and United and Liverpool have been linked with moves for him before. PSV's technical director Frank Arnesen has now named Gerard Houllier and Sir Alex Ferguson as firm admirers of Kezman, and says that both the Reds and Red Devils are among the clubs clamouring for his signature. The 24-year-old bagged four goals for PSV on Saturday to enhance his reputation and Arnesen says that they wou…

Another good performance, but can anyone please interpret the laws of the game to explain how the fuck Poll could come to the conclusion that he should be yellow carded? Or Didi for that matter?

Hello everyone, this is my first posting on your wonderful forum. I hope we all have a long and happy relationship together. To give you some info about me; I am from Liverpool and live not too far from the city still. I am a season ticket holder and regularly go to aways (although a diminishing number lately) and would have gone today but for illness. I will be at Wolves so if anyone wants to meet up for a bev and knows any pubs in the town, let me know. My views on the team are that we are failing at the moment and although I'm not a rabid "Houlier-out" merchant, I would like to see a change. You will never see me disrespectful to the man as I have a lot of ti…

From an interview with the guardian http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,1563,1101136,00.html "I like having the game in front of me in that holding role. I may not catch the eye as much as some of the attacking players but what does that matter? My profile has always been low key. If I go into town shopping I get the odd autograph hunter but I'm not mobbed like some of the other lads. The Kop doesn't chant my name either but I don't miss the celebrity. Some people might need it for their own ego but I am happy as I am. "I think I am valued by people for what I do. Obviously there are players the fans like more than others but the most important thing is t…

thought stevie had a great game today, only black mark was another two footed tackle this one in pen area,if a proper ref was in charge it would have been a pen and probally a red card, more concerning was the fact it could have broken someones ankle i thought after what happened to jamie he would have cut these tackles out.

For the last two games (well much longer really) the majority of the singing on the Kop has been carried by the lads (and girls!) who are on the upper left part (if you're standing on the Kop itself). Loved the "shall we sing a song for us". Yes, the Kop can still rouse itself to get behind the team, as in the second half against Birmingham, and yes, it is not what it was - but there is one particular aspect of the failure to respond that is disappointing. That section has tried to get the "justice" chant going, with little response from the rest of the Kop as a whole. On Sunday I was in Block 107, and last night Block 203. On both occasions I joined in, but felt …

In fact six points: 1. Michael Owen 2. Harry Kewell 3. Milan Baros 4. JC 5. Henchoz 6. Stevie F Six members of our 'team' were missing when we went to Bar Code land. Not squad players. All of the above are first 11. That's a hell of a blow. Could you see any other team coping with that amount of casualties? So at kick off I'd have settled for a point. How the mighty have fallen huh!? I'm less pissed off by one up front away from home as I am by it at Anfield against shit opposition in a cup game. Things improved further when the one up front was FSP. Have no idea what H****y was doing in midfield but that was ok, neither did he. Houllier set his stall ou…

The beginning of this season for us has highlighted the fact that the modern game is about the squad and not just the first 11. When players get injuries it's up to the players coming in to take their chance and cement their place in the first team. Unfortunately, this is where we have been let down. The only ones who have come anyway near close is Biscan (I'm still not completely satisfied with his performances) and Smicer early on in the season. Here's what I think of our current squad (not mentioning our academy players because I haven't seen enough of them). Gold Kirkland Dudek Carragher Henchoz Hyypia Hamann Gerrard Murphy Diouf Kewell Owen …

With the players we have available, this is the team I would field on saturday against the toon. -----------------------------------------------Kirkland -----------------------------Semmy---Biscan---Hyypia---Traore -----------------------------Diouf---Hamman---Gerrard---Riise ------------------------------------------------Smicer -----------------------------------------------Pongolle We can double up on both flanks if either full back is in trouble. If we're getting overrun in midfield, we play five across with Smicer joining up with Pongolle on the break. Bring on Murphy if Diouf, Riise or Smicer are having a bad game, if it's Riise switch Dio…
