Can we just go back in time eight days and have a redo of everything? What heady days they were. Top of the league with eight games left and looking forward to a European Final in Dublin. Then it all fucking collapsed around us. It’s not over and it would be overstating it to say we need a miracle, but we’ve really put ourselves in a shitty spot now. This is what happens when you keep conceding first though. Eventually it catches up with you. Our chickens finally came home to roost. Everyone has been saying it all season. You can’t keep giving teams a goal start and expect to win every time. Even teams like Palace, who hardly ever win games. They’re dangerous …

We're in a tight spot! I'm feeling like we should go all out to try and overcome this Atalanta deficit. It feels more achievable to me than the title, which feels absolutely gone now. It'd give us the opportunity to end the era on a high and complete the set for Jurgen. Thoughts?

Trent Alexander-Arnold admits things will be completely different once Jurgen Klopp departs the club but that does not mean that the team cannot challenge for honours next season. For many young players who have come into the Liverpool lineup in the Klopp era, he is the only manager they have had in senior Football. The lessons learnt under the German’s tutelage will keep them in fine stead for the rest of their career, but just like life in general, time waits for no-one and they as individuals and the team in general will soon move onto a new era. It is always an uncertain time when a new manager comes in as they will have their own m…

I have noticed a big amount of our shots are blocked every game, so I wanted to look into it and try and find a reason for why this is. The fact is that so far this season 28,46% of our shots in the league have been blocked. Do we take too many shots when a pass could have been a better option? Do teams defend better against us or do their players sacrifice more against us than other teams? Do we get too narrow in our play, something that leads to the opposition being able to crowd our players and its own box? Do we need to be more direct to catch our opponents off balance and with more space? Do we need to attack more out wide and create more cut backs? Do…

I am not saying I think this is an especially good article overall as it IMHO is a bit of a mess in how it covers what it is trying to get at. But I do think it raises some interesting points, touches on some issues that are definitely things that exist at Anfield on matchday and the topic is a worthwhile discussion.... My own view is that the crowd at Anfield demographically is now more 'divided' than it has ever been and therefore there is a lack of 'togetherness' and a lack of shared identity/mindsets/behaviours and as a result, the overall atmosphere is fractured. Work-rate. Incisiveness. Nous. I don't ask for much. This is how it's gonna be. Build from the ground up. It's pretty hard to motivate myself to start a match thread after such a chastening evening for the team the night before. Can sort of imagine how Dave must feel when he has to write match reports and other content when you feel so dispirited. They do say though that the best way to get over a setback is to clear your head and get back on the bike. This game, like nearly all of our remaining league fixtures for however long we last in the Europa League, takes place on a Sunday. And boy oh boy do we need to get back on the bike. …

I ended up in one of those daft twitter arguments this morning. It seems mad to me that people have this view, so I thought I’d take the temperature of the most learned of all football forums. But I’m not on RAWK so I came here instead (great gag). If both ourselves and Arsenal hypothetically won 1-0 today, would you then consider us 2nd or joint top? Thats the question. Some people are arguing that we’d be joint top as the goal difference only becomes a thing on the last day of the season? I think those people are odd. So I thought I’d see if that view was confirmed by the oddballs on here. So to again confirm, I mean at the end of today if both us …

Tell me, could you possibly be the same Liverpool Gladstone Trotter who, in 1992, fell down the cellar of Spartak Moscow, and received one hundred pounds compensation? I can’t remember that far back sir. Well, let’s try a more recent case then. Could you be the same Liverpool Gladstone Trotter who, in 1995, fell down the cellar of Brondby, and received a two hundred and twenty five pound out of court settlement? Me mind’s a blank! Maybe you were the same Liverpool Gladstone Trotter who, in 1997, fell down the cellar of Racing Strasbourg? How about Celta Vigo, or does Sporting Braga, ring a bell? Whilst we haven’t been mo…

Big game for him tonight. His first proper test against in-form Costa. Could be a potential make or break for him.

Gather round mother fuckers. The creator of the once widely popular "our midfield" thread has something to say. When I started that thread nearly 2 years ago the first two pages were full of people saying there is fuck all wrong with our midfield. They soon realised. I now have them peeling my grapes and throwing them up to my throne. Our attack is seriously lacking fluidity, timing, skill and guile. We have become a power team. Which is fine against shite but against decent teams or players it won't cut it. We don't actually create proper chances anymore. Or should I say we don't unless the game is open. We shoot from the most stupid …

Well, that was unexpected. An abject performance against Atalanta, on a night when Anfield pageantry was already in short supply, left the Reds' Europa League hopes in tatters ahead of next week's second leg in Italy. There were scant positives to take from a monumentally sobering evening, which raised huge question marks over the prospect of this team securing a fitting end to the Jurgen Klopp era. Chris Smith is joined by John Brennan and TLW Editor Dave Usher for this one. View full article

He was a proper handful when he came on today. Just as the Tory cunts were hoping to coast towards penalties, he just kept running at them and causing problems.

Monday Apr 8: “Amorim has verbally agreed to join us”, say a load of twitter bluffers. “No he hasn’t, the Reds are still doing their due diligence” say the LFC reporters. I know who I believe, and it’s not the likes of that Pletigoal jabroni from Sky Germany, who two weeks ago said Alonso was joining Bayern. It probably is Amorim, it feels inevitable now, but it won’t be finalised as up until a couple of weeks ago we were still in talks with Alonso. Sporting are going for the title, he won’t be finalising anything with us for a little while. He’s probably said he’s interested and now his agent will be dealing with most of the talks while he gets on…

This season TLW is once again looking to keep an eye on the younger members of the squad who are continuing their football education on loan. Last season we brought you the insight from Blackburn Rovers fans as Tyler Morton spent the campaign at Ewood Park. While it started brightly for the defensive midfielder, just like the team in general there was a notable drop-off come the end of the 2022/3 season. But all in all, playing a full campaign in one of the most physically intense leagues in Football would have done the 21 year-old the world of good. Now Morton is currently at Hull City, a club who are having a fine season under manager Liam Rosenior, exceedin…
