I would definitely put Joe Cole ahead of Coates. Sure, there was a lot of hype around Coates but he didn't cost as much in terms of payment (wages, signing in fee included)....

Yeah, Markovic and Balotelli should both be ahead of Coates.

As in depth and fully researched as Johnson's Brexit negotiations. 

I would also say that while Benteke wasn't good for us, we got a fair chunk of our money back and quite quickly, i.e. he wasn't carrying drinks for the under 23s for several seasons like a number of our transfer mishaps. He also seemed like a decent fella to me. Joe Cole was far, far worse.

1. Jürgen Klopp

I'd have Lallana in that worst list ahead of Benteke. £25m or something he cost, a lot more than the likes of Poulson or Jovanovic.

Shankly didn't like sicknotes & neither do I.

Benteke had a decent scoring ratio & only stayed for two years. Keita is liable to be a contender for that list too if he doesn't watch.

You need a top ten for the worst

1. Balotelli

2. Markovic

3. Karius

4. Caroll

5. Cole

6. Downing

7. Poulson

8. Jovanovic

9. Aquillani

10. Benteke

Still could make valid arguments for players like Borini and Sakho to be included.

How does Aquilani get in a list of worst signings of the decade when he wasn't signed this decade?

It's to do with the FA conspiracy to keep us at the to. It's all very complicated.

Benteke was much worse than Carroll.    Kenny at least had a plan and was building a team that would have worked if the Geordie wasn't completely useless. 

Benteke was shot from injuries,  zero chance of ever getting the service his type needed or being the forward our creative players needed.   Thankfully the scouts got Firmino and Klopp wasn't too far from replacing the egotistical cunt. 

Virgil top of the list for me. As great as the attacking signings were, he brought us to another level completely. It’s like lining out with an extra player. 

Diouf should be included. His stink lasted for decades. 

Can we replace Karius with Hodgson?

VVD and Suarez are a long way ahead of the rest.

The top five are pretty much indisputable, but the order that they are placed might cause some good natured debate.

On the other side of the coin are the flops.

1  Andy Carroll (2011-13)

 

It’s a list that no player wants to be on and there would be a fair few players happy to have missed out such as Paul Konchesky, Joe Cole, Christian Poulsen, Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert to mention a few.

Gladly, the amount of failures have substantially reduced in the last few years, while the quality brought into the club has certainly increased.

I'd have Markovic and Downing higher than Carroll and Benteke. At least West Ham took on his wages and with loan fees and transfers gave us 17ml back. 

Markovic was a unflushable turd and Downing terrible and still took a massive hit. 

At least we got most if not all the Benteke money back. 

Balotelli the worst.  Entirely predictable complete failure who eventually left for fuck all.  Such an obvious massive dildo of a misfit to what we needed, not one person in football was surprised at how his Liverpool career panned out and finished.
