Report: Liverpool eyeing Vasco De Gama starlet Talles Magno

Liverpool are continuing to look at Footballers for the future with Brazilian youngster Talles Magno the latest name linked to the club.

The 17 year-old is attracting a great deal of talent from such clubs as Lyon, Sevilla and Benfica but the Express (via Spanish outlet AS) report that Liverpool are at the head of the queue.

Benfica were said to be favourites at one point as they are renowned across Europe for honing young South American talent such as Ramires,, David Luiz and Ezequiel Garay and Angel De Maria over the years.

But with the success that Liverpool have had in recent years with Roberto Firmino, Fabinho and Alisson along with Philippe Coutinho previously, Magno will have plenty of countrymen to learn from.

Although seen as a forward, Magno has the flexibility to play as a attacking midfielder.

The talented youngster was a World Cup winner with Brazil's Under-17 squad last year and impressed throughout the tournament.

He also made his senior debut for Vasca during 2019 and has earned rave reviews for his trickery in and around the box scoring two goals in 15 appearances.

Magno’s current release clause stands at £43million but the report indicates half of that may be enough to get the deal over the line.

The Guardian included Magno in their 60 top talents for the next generation and had this to say about the youngster.

“Born and raised in the Tuiuti favela, an area close to Vasco’s stadium, São Januário, he worked hard to get to where he is now, giving himself and his family a better life.
