PODCAST: Wolves 1 Liverpool 2 - Match Reaction

Goals from Konate and Salah sent the Reds to the top of the table despite a somewhat below par performance at Wolves. It wasn't pretty but a win is a win and we've now got more of them than anybody else.

TLW Editor Dave Usher is joined by Ian Brown and Stu Montagu to reflect on the game and wax lyrical about how great Ryan Gravenberch is. There's also a brief look ahead to the Bologna game in midweek.

I agree with the sentiment we are too sloppy too often to be that much of a threat to Arsenal. They are just better than us and unless they are hit with an injury crisis and we aren't the table will reflect that at the end of the season. I wasn't expecting us to win it anyway the manager needs time to learn the league. I think the run from the Chelsea game to Christmas will probably bury our title ambitions but I'm hoping it's a proper education for Slot and in the sumer for the love of fucking God FSG stop treating us like their own little fucking ISA.

Sound pessimistic but I'm not I'm relaxed about the season. We hired a manager who has no experience at this level so it's a learning curve this year, if he's a quick learner then fucking great. The pricks in suits need to provide him with players.

I didn't play FOR them, I was their nemesis. Like Les Ferdinand to Everton, or Mo to the mancs.

Mo Salah > Man Utd

Les Ferdinand > Everton

Dave Usher > Bananas

I'm imagining Dave writing to the FA, UEFA and FIFA year after year with no response. Brought back to that dark place every time he sees a banana, a debut lob wrongfully taken from him. It needs to be addressed, it could happen to someone else.

I'm not haunted by it, I scored so many goals against them every other time we met that it's not a big deal, but the principal of it still bothers me. Lucas was robbed of a derby winner at Goodison in similar fashion. Just give the fucking goal.

Been gradually making me way through this one because Dave's footballing ability delusions are getting too much to handle at this point. It's genuinely bordering on insanity.

RE: The point on the penalty and/or the red card.... surely just allow the captain to choose which he wants?

And the handball on the line = a goal? Absolutely. Just like goal tending in the NBA. No-one disputes it.

Also identify with Stu's point about every foul in the box not being worthy of a penalty. Something that's been exacerbated by VAR micro-analysing in slow motion looking for the slightest hint of contact.

I listened to this in the gym. First time I’ve bothered with a gym pod.

I won’t make that mistake again. Nearly ended up with a weight on my head after the Geest bananas bit.
