PODCAST: Liverpool 2 Leicester City 0 - Match Reaction

In form Diogo Jota bagged a brace as new boy Luis Diaz dazzled on his debut in a routine 2-0 home win for the Reds against Leicester.

Chris Smith is joined by Julian Richards and TLW Editor Dave Usher to reflect on another fun night at Anfield. How exciting was Diaz? What's Jota's ceiling? How close is Elliott to nailing down a regular spot in the side? All of this is covered, plus there's an apology (of sorts) to James Maddison for comments made on a previous pod.

I don't watch enough football outside of Liverpool to make an informed judgement, but about the business of Maddison putting the ball outside the arc, fully expecting the Kop to flip its collective lid. It was right under where I sit in the Main Stand so I got to see it in HD. And it absolutely cracked me up. He might be a knobhead the rest of the time, but that was top notch panto villainy.

Yeah he put it miles outside the arc, so it wasn't about gaining an advantage, it was purely done as a wind up as he knew everyone would be screaming at the linesman to sort it.

We made an error when talking about the last defeat at Turf Moor in 2016. I asked Jules if it was “2016 pre Jurgen [and thus in the embers of the B-Rod reign] or with Jurgen?”

Of course it was October 2015 when Jurgen came in. My fault for leading Jules in incorrectly.
