Liverpool's stuttering start to the season continued with a hugely disappointing performance in their comprehensive 3-1 defeat at West Ham. The awful defending of the past season remains, but the exhilarating attacking was once again nowhere to be seen.
The "new players" excuse doesn't apply in this one, as West Ham also had a number of new boys in their lineup, and it didn't hamper them; they flew out of the blocks, and by the time Liverpool eventually got to grips with the game, they were already 2-0 down. Worrying for Kopites, since Daniel Sturridge was injured, Liverpool have looked distinctly average at best and utterly dreadful at worst.
