Not the result you want when you’ve just screwed over your matchgoing fans and just come out of the January transfer window with only Steven Caulker on loan to show for it. That’s modern day LFC though, completely disinterested in winning and all about the almighty dollar. By not bringing in attacking re-enforcements they’ve effectively just written off this season, because if anyone thinks Sturridge is riding to the rescue they’re completely deluded.

We’re stuck with what we have between now and May, and what we have is a team that has drawn eight blanks in their last 16 games since that malingering twat Sturridge last started a game. Make all the excuses you want about value for money and keeping your powder dry until summer, but as far as I’m concerned they’ve thrown in the towel for this season and are just hoping that Klopp can work some magic and deliver a cup to keep us gobshites digging deep to pay to watch this shit.

It’s just so hard to watch us right now. It’s not fun, it’s a chore and more often than not it just puts me in a foul mood for hours afterwards. Sometimes I tell myself that I hate all these players but I don’t think that’s actually true, it’s just borne out of frustration of watching these performances. That said, there is not a single player in the squad other than Flanagan (and maybe Ings) who I think it would upset me if they were sold. I have no attachment to any of the others, I just have varying degrees of apathy towards most, and simmering anger towards others.

This was just a wretched display and I don’t think anyone will be fooled by the amount of possession we had. To the naked eye Leicester didn’t really do much and it’s true that we had a fair amount of control for most of the game. That’s Leicester though, it’s how they play and it’s how they’ve gotten to the top of the league. They aren’t bothered about possession or control of the game, they get the ball forward as quickly as they can to their two matchwinners and let them do their thing. It’s worked all season and it worked to perfection against us.

We were attacking five seconds before Vardy’s opener. That’s all they need, is that one moment. I felt for Lovren and Mignolet there, as what the hell could they do about that? A massive punt up the field to a greyhound striker and then a perfect dipping half volley. You can’t stop those, and although the second goal was certainly more preventable I’m not even particularly arsed about that. The real issue, yet again, is just how absolutely fucking clueless we are when we get near the box.

The first thing Klopp needs to do is fine any of them who takes a shot from 25 yards out. They can’t do it, they’re fucking hopeless and I’m sick of seeing them blasting shots into row Z. An even bigger problem though is the awful decision making, whether it’s picking the wrong pass, passing instead of shooting, shooting instead of passing or not making the right run. All of it combined is making for some truly inept play in the final third.

For all our possession and ‘control’ their keeper didn’t have to make a save, while Mignolet made two great stops in the first half and was beaten twice in the second. We deserved absolutely nothing from this game. Good luck to Leicester, I’m pleased for them and I’d love them to win the title as if nothing else it would blow away this culture of excuses that’s surrounded our club for years. The same would apply if Spurs did it.

Leicester don’t need much of the ball to create chances and get shots in. Basically they won this game because they’ve got a goalscorer and we haven’t. It really is that simple. It’s the same reason that Spurs are so much better than us too. It’s all well and good us saying that all of these players are crap and need replacing, but that’s not the way to go. Would you trust this club to go out and improve on all of the players they’d be selling? We’d end up even worse, and given where we are now, “even worse” would take us down into a relegation fight. Be careful what you wish for.

No, what we need is a couple of genuine match winners who will relieve the burden off everyone else. Put it this way, how many Leicester players are better than their LFC counterparts? Three definitely, four at a push. Watching us trying to attack is completely soul destroying. My emotions in most games range from sadness to furious anger. The only team in the Premier League I’ve seen who look more toothless than us around the penalty area is Aston Villa. Maybe Sunderland too, but at least they have Defoe, who has forgotten more about goalscoring than any of these deadbeats will ever know.

I’m starting to hate Firmino now. He's a cock tease. He shows every now and then how good he can be but more often than not he’s just shit and lightweight, like in this game. He did absolutely nothing, yet this chump probably cost more than the entire Leicester starting eleven. We need players who produce week in week out, not ones who look like stars for one game in ten and then do fuck all the rest of the time.

Benteke came on and was just completely wretched. It’s horrible watching him now, he’s fucking brutal and can’t seem to do anything thing right. He actually made us even worse, and I wouldn't have thought that was even possible. Because those two - who we paid £60m for let’s not forget - have been such massive flops, the spotlight has been on the likes of Lallana (another £25m), Milner, Ibe, Henderson and Can to deliver more in the attacking third and all have failed spectacularly.

The league season is over now, we’re eleven points behind fourth spot and that gap will only get bigger between now and May. We’ll do well to finish in the top half given the way we’ve played so far, so therefore we have to go all out in the cups. The problem is that it’s difficult to see us getting much joy in any of those either given the utter abjectness in the final third.

The club obviously don’t give a fuck though and I wish I could take that approach too, but unfortunately it doesn’t work like that and this constant shit is making me miserable. Do you think John Henry loses a wink of sleep when we lose a game? Or that twat Ian Ayre? Half the players probably don't either.

It's depressing and not even Klopp can put a smile on my face these days. Let’s face it, he must now be wondering just what the fuck he’s let himself in for. Were Dortmund this bad when he took over there? It's hard to imagine they could be, as this is just shockingly poor for the most part.

Team: Mignolet; Clyne, Lovren, Sakho, Moreno; Lucas, Can (Allen); Henderson (Benteke), Lallana, Milner; Firmino (Teixeira):

Depressing stuff.  Didn't even make an effort to catch it on some stream last night as I knew it would be the same old.  Only we could put out bad news re ticket prices (& it is rip-off news despite the 'spin' from the club) on the very day such an abject performance is turned out.  Ideally they could have waited until we beat Leicester and then buried it today.  Oh wait...maybe even they realise that waiting on a victory from us would mean delaying renewal forms until the Summer.

'My emotions in most games range from sadness to furious anger'  - I read that in the voice of Samuel L Jackson.

It's shit being us right now isn't it.  Completely depressing. Good article Dave

I don't think Leicester winning will shut down the excuse culture it will just make fsg think its possible to win the league and spend virtually fuck all. Let's copy Leicester and fail miserably because the people who identify players at our club and negotiate are shite.

I'd say there are 11 Leicester players who are better than their Liverpool counterparts. This myth that we've better players but for some reason every other team we play is a better team is doing my head in. Our players are a mixture of plainly over-rated shit or talentless losers. Take your pick.

Wouldn't argue with any of that, and I haven't even seen the match! I lost what little interest I had in the game yesterday afternoon when I saw that my season ticket is going up by more than £100. 'Taking the piss' doesn't even begin..... Now I've just seen the prices for the final this month, and contemplating spending £72 on a ticket (37% are at this price point) and the thought of another performance like the semi against Villa last year, from which I still haven't recovered!, and wondering......do I really need this shit?

"sadness to furious anger" is bang on.

There are now stages in games where I'm actually laughing out loud at the ineptness of these players like when Lallana will opt to turn around and pass backwards from the edge of their box when a shooting chance opened up. Or when Moreno took a throw in directly to a Leicester player on the edge of our box. Or when we're counter attacking and not one player joins Firmino in the box.

The worrying thing is that the players are putting the effort in but they just don't have the quality about them to score goals. It's shocking how average this team is.

It beggars belief that we are happy to plod on with our squad as it is until at least the end of the season.

We are spineless literally and figuratively....we lack all the main things that make for a decent side in our league and worst of all we have spent a fucking fortune to assemble such a meek, weak, unbalanced and lacking in quality squad - a squad that we as a football club are seemingly happy with.

A shower of mediocrity and shite who consistently fail to do the basics right.

A team with little pace, little power, little creativity and no edge - worst squad I have seen in my lifetime.

Hodgson's crowd were worse.

This lot seems to consist of a few who never had it in the first place and a lot who had it elsewhere but incomprehensibly completely fell off the edge after moving here.

To add to my depression I have just looked at the table and for the first time in years looked down to see who might overtake us.

I wonder what it will actually really take for those no mark useless suits to get fired.

Newcastle look a fully formed professional outfit compared to us.

Just the presence of Carra and Gerrard make his squad better.

Actually may have to hold my hands up on this one, looking back at the squad on wiki I'd forgotten we still had the likes of Dirk and Maxi chipping in upfront and Meireles in midfield. Maybe it was the sheer shitness of Hodgson clouding my memory.

We also had Konchesky, mind.

Dagger at the back as well....hodgson of course was totally inept and incapable of getting us performing but the actual squad itself wasn't as bad as the shower we have now

I remember in Rafas first season's the TLW magazine had a picture of Benitez scratching his head at training under the headline "tougher job than you thought Rafa?".

We then became brilliant for a brief while.

So...that means....um..we are going to be just fine...

We have people paid to identify players?

I'm not buying that, yes the owners dont have a clue, but to say they employ somebody to pick out future players is just crazy talk.

Thats like saying firmino is great in every game, not just one in seven, and that he doesnt go missing in the other six.

Agger was a useful player in his day. He was appallingly shit towards the end though.

I shudder to think what Hodgson would do with this group of players.

Stuart Pearce, commentating on R5 for the Leicester game, said before the first goal he, “enjoys watching Liverpool’s all-action style of play and is impressed by Klopp’s work at Anfield.”

In the end of match summary he said, “all teams are only as good as their forward line.”

I’ve not seen the match or highlights, but is it fair to say we are not as poor as the 2-0 defeat suggests and we will significantly improve following the return of Coutinho and Origi?
