» It's all Liverpool's fault!

The battling blues suffered UEFA Cup heartbreak to Fiorentina last night, as a leading Everton fan group claim that a Liverpool led G14 conspiracy cost them a place in the last eight of the competition.

As the Italian side claimed a thoroughly undeserved victory following a dramatic penalty shoot out, Mrs Gwladys Streetnob of the recently formed ‘Mates of Mike Walker’ group insisted that the blame for Everton’s exit lays firmly at the door of neighbours Liverpool, and their G14 buddies: “It’s the redshites fault again, how many times are they gonna stop us from achieving European glory?”

Gwladys Streetnob feels that the ban on English club’s following the Heysel tragedy contributed to the blues downfall, but also revealed that many Everton fans believe there was a plot hatched amongst the G14 at the end of last season to ensure the blues would not win the UEFA Cup and reclaim their rightful place in the top echelon of European clubs.

“I blame Heysel” she said. “That ban set us back years and that’s why we didn’t know how to deal with the 1st leg over Italy. Our lads froze like rabbits in the headlights over there, but ifithadnabinfer Heysel we’d have won the European Cup every year since and would have had the experience we needed in Florence. Although we wouldn’t have been in the UEFA Cup of course, we’d have been in the Champions League.”

She continued: “The G14 have got it in for the blues. They brought Collina out of retirement to screw us two years ago, and this time they’ve got together to make sure we didn’t win the UEFA.”

Gwladys Streetnob points to Liverpool’s loss in the Champions League final in Athens last May as the pivotal moment in Everton’s UEFA Cup failure: “Fiorentina finished fourth in Serie A last season, so why are they playing in the UEFA Cup? I’ll tell you why” she fumed. “Because the redshite and their G14 mates wanted to make sure we didn’t win the UEFA, so they let Milan win the final so Fiorentina would go in the UEFA and knock us out. Ifithadnabinfer der redshite we’d be in the next round”

Blues boss David Moyes refused to be drawn on the matter, simply stating: “People can make their own minds up, but what I will say is that Liverpool beat Milan in 2005, but couldn’t do it last year. Seems a bit strange, but like I say I don’t want to comment on it.”

Everton’s attentions now turn to the battle for fourth place, and Moyes once again insisted all the pressure is off his side as it’s Liverpool who carry the burden of expectation: “I don’t talk about other sides, my focus is on Everton” he insisted, before adding: “Liverpool have all the pressure, as with all the money they’ve spent they should be winning the title and winning every game 10-0. If they don’t do that then it has to be seen as failure.”
