» "I’m no parrott" Squarks Stubbsy

Alan Stubbs admits that he is 'hurt and angry' about claims that he looks like a parrot. The veteran Blues defender has been the subject of cruel taunts from Liverpool supporters, after it was pointed out on fans' website liverpoolway.co.uk that he bears a striking resemblance to the popular talking bird.

"I can’t even walk down the street without dem redshite bastards screaming 'Bwaark' at me" he told TEW. "I don’t get it, I mean I know I’m not no oil painting like, but I don’t think I look like a parrot. It’s upsetting and it gets me dead angry like." he fumed.

The lifelong Blue admits to being baffled at the comparison. "I just don't see it, I mean Parrots can fly, but I can't. They eat birdseed, I don't. They're dead clever though, so I suppose that's one thing we have in common. I don't know any pirates though...”

Stubbs claims the taunts are something that is new to English football, and says it's something that has crept in with the influx of foreigners. "The foreigners have come in and I don't think it's been beneficial at all. The parrot thing only started recently, around the same time the redshite brought in all dem foreigners from Spain. Is that a co-incidence? I don't think so. It's obvious who's to blame, it's as plain as the nose on my face."
