  2. I thought his performance last night was very peak Thiago esque - he dictated things at his own pace and the swagger, style and range of passing was a delight to behold. Cocky at times even. He's like the rolls Royce we were promised when we signed wee Joe Allen.
  3. Seems an interesting fella. 55 is no age by the way but is it too old for a potential 10 year project.
  4. I think FSG will make a leftfield appointment next. A polar opposite of Klopp. I bet that relationship, despite the success, has been a tough one for them because I'm certain Klopp will have pushed back at them as much as he has been able to get away with. And made them work for it. I think they'll want someone a bit more bendable and compliant next I think they will be keen for another Rodgers type appointment. Id fit Xabi in that thinking. He is leftfield in terms of being up and coming and not a full on a list serial winner. And it's an easy hit for them as he will have a more straightforward bedding in period thano someone not with a history with the club. So that one makes sense. But if it's not Xabi it wouldn't surprise me if it's someone not obvious. Someone like Iraola, who I wouldn't be averse to o btw, I think his identity and style would be portable to us. Amorim maybe. The girona manager - but I think he will be primed as guardiola's successor. Moneyball. I just hope they get it right.
  5. I've gone through the whole range of emotions since the announcement yesterday, sad, acceptance, cathartic, optimistic and excited for what comes next, relaxed... Now I'm back feeling a bit gutted. I can't help feeling there's something more behind this. I don't think Klopp would have gone back on a contract that he had signed up to without a justifiable reason. Yes I get that he is probably knackered after last season but at the same time the way this season is going I would think he would have been lifted somewhat. So my thought process is along the lines that the club have maybe said due to this FFP thing and last season's revenue loss maybe the upcoming contract renewals for ageing high earning key players arent going ahead and maybe theyre planning to take out an ad in the jeddah gazette and want a convenient cash in before replacing with new younger cheaper versions? A phase 2 of last summer. Or maybe there's something behind the scenes with the city charges and there's been a intervention from the top to make it go away and FSG want to jump ship and go balls deep into the super league and want his support? The Amazon documentary news last week seems timely. Not saying the club would go ahead against klopps wishes but seems strange timing that something was in the news last week. Dunno, I'm hoping there's nothing sinister and what we know is the honest story. Obviously would love to get Xabi in next. I think he's got enough credit in the bank to get a few season's grace if things take a while. Failing that Tuchel and Emery would fit with us as alternatives. Also think the Bournemouth manager is doing great things. Onwards and upwards as they say
  6. in my cheffing days I was taught by a French chef how to make a 'blood omelette' - basically quick fire home made black pudding. Immense. Second best - any black pud fans who can get to ormskirk should try brough's the butchers home made black pudding. Ask them to cut it into a decent slab - the size of a twenty deck ciggy box - that and a nice fried egg is all you need for brekkie. No beans required
