  1. i don't think you are understanding what is written in that article, when he says he has taken the team as far as he can, that we need investment if we are to compete with the top clubs in the league,it says to me at least that he cannot do anymore at the club and will fuck off in the summer.why would he stay if he feels he cant move forward, you think if he leaves here he wont walk into another top club before the next season starts?so its not exactly like he has no choices,it also looks like he will walk forfeiting his golden handshake that a lot of people use to beat him with
  2. if we are lucky what will happen is some super rich man or group will come in,initially splash a couple hundred mill on players and what not just to get us back into title contention, get a stadium on the go,then ease back on the spending until eventually we won't need them(or him) to put any money in and we are at the stage where we can sustain ourselves at the top of the table and top of European competition. We need to be making as much money as is needed to keep us at the top with out sugar daddies having to constantly throw money at us. having said all that i really don't give a damn if we ended as some super rich sugar daddy playing thing for awhile,it's not doing Chelsea any harm or city, once we are run properly we won't need to worry.
  3. i can understand why people would want us to finish out of Europe altogether.it's not because they want the club to suffer or some shite, its because they believe if we get champs league football next season it will help keep those in charge here longer and we all know that is the worst thing that could happen for the club.i am referring to G@H of course,on the other hand if we finish out of Europe it might force the owners hand in someway, might speed up or be the final straw that forces them to move out and fuck of too their next victims.
  4. you are not in cahoots with presidents if you aren't respected.he happens to be very good at what he does which wouldn't bother us normally but it does because he's part owner of our club and the complete opposite of what we need.
  5. i don't think he will leave unless he is asked to or has to be sold to cover debts because of us missing out on champions league next season.it is a somewhat complicated answer in that it might be out of his hands. If it was his choice i believe he would stay another season if we failed to make it into the top 4 but if we didn't make it next season he would definitely be off.On the other hand if the club needs to sell and i don't think h@g would think twice about telling him to leave,he might be not forced out but definitely be given a good shove.
  6. yeah i think it's a safe bet that lucas and masch start tomorrow, can't afford to give united space or they will tear us a new one.
  7. it's also for carragher to.if its one thing i can't stand its him with the ball at his feet as i know we are 2 secs from a 40yrd punt. When alonso was there that side of his game was cut out,we are built around a play maker whether we realize or not.Aquilani is more Barry than Alonso in that he is more mobile and gets into better positions in attack but barry also gets back to defend and i believe when aquilani gets in on this he will start a lot more games as rafa demands 2 players in front of the back 4. Initially Aquilani seemed to let opposing midfielders drift by him as the game wore on,that could have been down to tiredness but whatever the case was it wasn't going to be allowed to continue.Recently he looks far more involved and on the move, dropping deep to pick the ball up and aware of players around him, always ready to give and go.He needs to continue this while building his fitness so he can do it all game and we will see the best of him or at least the player rafa envisaged when we signed him. I was struggling to see what Aquilani brought to the team in the beginning but now i am starting to and tbh it's a relief as i could smell another keane type scenario on the horizon
  8. we don't really need him to be versatile,of course it would be a bonus but what we really need is the play maker for mascherano to give the ball to.At the minute we don't have one forcing masch to be the player who drops deep picks the ball from carra and take it into midfield looking to spot a pass,he is a destroyer who can pass and keep it simple and he is brilliant at it. That's why we need someone of aquilani's caliber who can take the ball from masch and bring it forward spot and make those long probing passes or a quick one-two.
  9. because most of us can recognize a good thing when we see it and this season aside rafa has done very well. you mentioned you wanted him gone last season too?it was our best season in the league for 20yrs ish.this whole "we are a very patient bunch"is media bullshit. It's an attempt by the media to increase pressure on the manager because they don't like to see a johnny foreigner doing well, especially we he appears to be a little on the cold side, which is used as another attack on him, funny how you don't hear much about cappello being cold. Its why they love "arry redknapp and drool over him inspite of his "off field" activities,if rafa was doing the same their would be a spectacle made.
  10. i think players need time to settle, some more than others in aquilani's case.As mentioned earlier in thread we will not see the best of him till next season probably.so far he has started slow but lately seems to have come on a bit.
  11. 2 reasons why i wouldn't sell. 1) we are not a selling club and selling our best players is a sign of a club on decline, why would top players come here if we are selling our other top players.you come here to win trophies.2)the club would see fuck all of that money, most if not all would go towards the debt hence keeping the owners snug in place, also on a side note torres merchandising is worth a shit ton to us too,its not just his goals.
  12. in order to play the formation we do properly,ie 1 up top we need attacking fullbacks and johnson is one of the best there is,certainly in the prem. you need to spend big to bring in quality.Arbeloa needed replacing and players of johnson's caliber don't come around every transfer window. We also needed to replace alonso, which as it stands we haven't,even after spending 20mil on aqualani. The problem is even after last season where we were flying we were still short and needed to build, instead we lost 3 players and had just money enough to replace them, nothing more. as things stand atm and i am all for giving aqualani more time it looks like it would have been better to not bring him in at all and use pacheco in the hole and let him develop and spent the aqua money on a quality striker.
