  1. Great start to the Test summer. We may as well reduce Test matches to four days as we never bat long enough anyway.
  2. Erm. Shall we call this series off already?
  3. What kind of innings was that from Moeen? Looked like he'd given up the idea of playing for his career and decided to play a quick 20/20 innings. Drop him for the next test for that innings alone.
  4. Just seen a picture of the WACA pitch from yesterday and I reckon the groundsman may have broke his lawnmower. Looks like a club level pitch!
  5. I think so. Didn't see anything from Ball that would suggest he offers anything in Aussie conditions. I'd leave Woakes in there really just for his batting at this point and give him the odd spell with the ball; his bowling this past year in Tests has been ordinary. The killer for England in the bowling department is the lack of Stokes. Often a good strike bowler when conditions aren't great for Anderson or Broad, don't think any of the other bowlers we have offer that.
  6. I know this will result in him getting out, but has there been a better stroke player for England than Moeen Ali in recent times? Thinking maybe Bell or Trescothick were the closest?
  7. Ball and Woakes been nowhere near good enough as the secondary bowlers. Anderson looks to be injured as well which does not bode well.
  8. Neither team are particularly strong but it's still great staying up, watching both teams battle it out in the best format of the game. Well set up for day two.
  9. What's the quickest Test match ever played? This will be over in two days at this rate.
  10. I'll rejoin. Yosser - The New Age Outlaws Jose Jones - Stockton Stranglers Clarence - South Park Cows Carvalho - Carvalho's Cripplers BCM - Phil Simm's Kings Bob - Wetherby Whalers Dave U - Bad News Bears Tickle - Clem's Clams Chris - Lebowski's Urban Achievers RedKnight - Welsh State Celtics I've not posted on the forums regularly recently, so if some regular poster wants to rejoin then give them priority over myself.
  11. Another example of the political commentariat getting the mood of the actual people in this country wrong, They've riled themselves up over this student loans thing, not actually taking into consideration young people's actual view on the matter. Myself and a number of my friends are fairly recent graduates, we all saw the NME interview and were never under the impression that he'd wipe debt out for us. What we did understand was that he'd attmept to remove student fees for the future generations - something that we supported. The media likes to portray our generation as self centred and uncaring - I find the opposite to be true in a lot of circumstances. Whilst we may have to pay loans, I hope to fuck the generations to come don't have to.
  12. How many more years are we going to get out of Anderson? Every year I think his body will give out on him, but he comes back every time and takes wickets.
  13. Bit mystified why Philander has only bowled about 13 overs, must be extremely unfit for this one. Without Steyn, this attack seems fairly innocuous once you get past the opening 20 overs - although a belter of Lords pitch doesn't help them.* *Awaits an almighty English batting collapse for the rest of the series.
  14. If it keeps up like this, I've never been happier to be wrong. The last two months he really has stood up for Labour and the left, producing a manifesto and platform that has resonated with many - all down to him and his team. Shown me to be a total fucking idiot, which is not really surprising.
