Mixed feelings for me, after a bit of deliberation i feel the Carroll/Suarez teaming could be a real leap forward from the more single-minded play we occasionally employed with Nando. Overall good work, but then FSG needed to show they were serious in getting us on track after selling arguably the worlds best striker to Roman's cock jockeys... As far as Carroll's value - no i don't think he's a £35m striker - yet - but if that's what FSG are willing to pay, and it doesnt rinse the summer war chest, then what the fuck does it matter how much we spunk on him. Andy seems to fit the criteria FSG want in our next-gen players, so bring it on. Still very disappointed in Nando's behaviour and the way he conducted himself in this saga. I agree with many points, in that we certainly need another 'Torres' style player for when he cant play, and although i cant imagine it now, thinking of the two of them up front together is drool-worthy (awaits comments...) Eto'o has certainly come on since the early years of his career. I remember watching the la liga highlights a few years ago after school when he was at real mallorca and he was fucking awful, seriously the guy couldnt score against a team of dogs, but in the space of a season he picked up his game and by god he's a potent striker now. Like Tevez, but dont particularly want a red-shite cast-off, there'll certainly be sod-all loyalty on his behalf IMO, though who knows what Mascherano is tempting him with behind the scenes, being his country captain and all

I'd be surprised if Ribery is any less than £50m, there was talk of the mancs shelling £65m on him if chicken tits went to Madrid in summer. Bit unsure if i'd be happy about Tevez coming or not, though certainly not for £32m, and there are lots of other gr8 players who might be at our fingertips in summer. Certainly a great player, but as stated earlier i dont think he's what we need. The 4-4-1-1 seems to be working out for us right now so i think Rafa and his boys will have to scout and buy carefully in summer, dont fix what aint broke and all that
