Just all been chatting away at work and a young girl on the team said "Imagine life witout mobile phones" - which was met with mixed reaction from different members of the group
It then got us older ones ( I am 31) reminising about 'the good old days'
Few things we mentioned
You could never text your mate to see if they were coming out, so you would always walk round to their house and knock for them, if the Mum answered the door and said they were having their tea, you would sit on the corner waiting for them to finish and come out
One other way we used to keep ourselves amused was to play conkers, you would spend a day in the local park/cemetary throwing a big stick in a tree and getting as many conkers down as you could. You would then come up with ingenious ways of making them harder...nail varnish, vinegar etc ...sticking them in a dark cupboard etc till the next year
Top loading Video players -now the way we have things stacked on top of each other - DVD player, Sky Box, playstation. You could never have anything on top of these as they ejected upwards
Big old Teles, weighed a tonne, had buttons that you had to pressin to turn over, had knobs that went up and down for vloume, brightness, colour etc ..They always had wooden sides too
We talked about loads more but though I would pass it over to the GF and see what other memories of the GOOD OLD DAYS they could come up with
