  1. Criticising Rafa on here is a bit like poking a stick in an Ants nest. All the ants rush out trying to defend the nest and repair the damage. Criticise Rafa on Rawk and the bloody ants have torches and pitchforks. I don't see how it is of benefit to Liverpool FC to have an ex manager saying he wants to manage Liverpool while we already have a manager, especially when most are getting behind Dalglish and we seem to be finally moving on.
  2. Another embarassing interview as Rafa tries to re-write history. “History will be kind to me for I intend to write it” by Rafa Benitez. Time to let it go Rafa, along with Hodgson and Souness you are one of the few managers that have left this club in a worse position than when you took over. Live with it and move on......we are trying to, and it doesn't help when we finally all seem to be moving in the same direction and getting behind a manager we trust to have the ghost of Christmas past trying to spoil the party. Thanks for the memories, but time to move on before you become thought of more as a stalker than an ex- manager looking for a job. Yes, yes, we are all greatful for Istanbul, a day we will never forget. Its not you its us...... we just need our space. Yes we have found someone else. No we don't love them more .... its just different.
  3. Choosing Roy was undoubtedly a wrong decision, but I still believe sacking Rafa was both necessary and right. We just need to bring the right man in now, give him the right backing financially and we will soon be back on track.
  4. Definitely not. He must be just as devistated as the rest of us at the way the club has nosedived since H&G took over. Back in 2007 when they first took over he must have thought like we did that things were on the up, a CL final and new owners who were going to pump money into the club, build the new stadium and take us back to the top where we belong.
  5. Six trophies But Houllier responded on Friday: "I've heard they want to go back to '60s and '70s culture. Fair enough, but not with me." The Frenchman, in charge at Anfield since 1998, added: "Between 1999 and 2004 we have managed to qualify twice for the UEFA Cup and three times for a Champions League spot. "In five years we have qualified for Europe all the time, played over 50 games in Europe and didn't lose a lot and we also got six trophies." Houllier's most successful year by far was in 2001 when Liverpool won the UEFA Cup, FA Cup and League Cup. They won the League Cup again in 2003 and have also won the European Supercup and the Community Shield under Houllier. He also hit back at claims that his side had upset supporters by playing a negative style of football. "Look at the stats - and I am talking about facts here," Houllier added. "We are the team with the most shots at goal, most corners and penalties. That shows we must have got around the box. "And to get around the box we must have played some positive football. We have an average over 37 games (in the league this season) of 15 shots at goal. That is far more than any other team." Since taking sole charge at Liverpool Houllier has achieved 141 wins in 272 games with 62 draws and 69 defeats. ---------------------------------- reads very similar to me
  6. By the time we played the other "big" teams in the cups we were out of contention for anything else. This tends to focus the mind a little bit. We could concentrate on the one "big" game while the other team was chasing the league /CL/FA cup and perhaps couldn't afford to rest their best players beforehand like we could. Just like in the 70's and 80's when we were chasing everything and got stuffed on a regular basis by the fecking mancs and Arsenal in the cups.
  7. I thought Alonso had a decent first season with us, a great second season followed by two mediocre ones before his final excellent season. I am sure the disparity in his performances was partly due to the players infront of him, but I don't blame Rafa for looking to offload him in 2008. I didn't like the way he was touted around like a used car, but the decision to sell him at that stage seemed correct. Obviously like many I would have prefered him to stay after his excellent performances in his final season, but by that time too many bridges had been burnt.
  8. I suppose it must come back to "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time. " and those sites are just a bit slow catching on.
  9. The way RAWK affect polls is they ban members who speak out slightly against Rafa. Therefore the members who remain and vote tend to be Rafa supporters while the shunned and banned tend to finish up on here.
  10. It doesn't actually say that in the accounts mate. It says nothing was found like that. Easy to missread when skimming through.
  11. Wher Houllier left we had just finished 4th, qualified for the CL had won a cup the previous year and had finished second in the league the year prior to that. This is the first time Spurs have ever qualified for the CL. When Redknapp took over they had 2 points from 8 games , Spurs then took 10 of the next 12 points (including a win over us). Hardly the same level mate. Maybe to what we have now :( , but not to what Houllier left.
  12. I don't mind discussing what I wrote, just not what I didn't write. I didn't write that Parry bought Keane, which seemed to me the point you had problems with.
  13. You missed the whole point of my original post, which was to say that there are many facets to a transfer, and maybe Rafa is not the best person to judge them. I am no lover of Parry but I would expect that when it comes to looking at the different aspects of a transfer as an accountant he would have a better idea of the plusses or minuses they will have on said transfer. I.E. We bought Keane in installments (or so I am led to believe) maybe the Barry deal couldn't be arranged in such a beneficial way. No need for all the cr@p mate, I was just making a post.
  14. Where did I say "PARRY bought Keane"? I said "Parry may have been more receptive " which means when Rafa told him who he wanted, Parry may have thought that the Keane deal might be better for LFC and pursued that deal more attentively. Maybe instead of moaning about Rafa going or staying you should concentrate on your reading problems. As for the "SHOP" IT WAS MEANT AS AN EXAMPLE NOT LITERAL which is why I put I.E. Or to spell it out for you in words you may understand. If Mr Benitez wanted both players , Mr Parry might be more willing to press for the purchase (buying) of Mr Keane, because Mr Keane may help with sales in Ireland(and elsewhere)more than Mr Barry would. I.E. (FOR EXAMPLE) Mr Ferguson/Mr Gill bought Mr Park because apart from being a decent player he was Asian and might help with sales in Asia. (Asia is a continent far far away)
