Don't think so but there was Denis Smith(I think),ex sunderland manager who had ties to the Ferguson family,managed slur's son at wrexhwm i think,made him captain and went on in his book about how he saved slur's career(don't know how)

I think he's a Chelsea fan and is on their board in the same way that Lord Ouseley is on the Manc's board. The contrast in his remarks towards Suarez and his club captain or should I say lack of remarks about the his club captain's case tells you all you need to know about him really. I also read that his Missus is involved in either Celtic or Rangers(I think Rangers) in some way and read something totally hypocritical about them regarding that also but can't remember exactly what that was. John Barnes' comments through all of these issues have been the most balanced and sensible of anyone's as others have said already.
