  1. Three things that I thought would never happen, all happen on the same day; East Fife 4 v Forfar 5, Markovic playing for Liverpool again Sturridge playing for anyone without the aid of a zimmer I need a lie down
  2. The lads a shoe in for the next Nivea ad as well
  3. Have never seen the lad play except in a few you tube vids but even I knew he had a dodgy knee. Seems to have come of a bit of a surprise to our medical team. Either a bit of a fuck up or part of the plan? Get him here then drop the fee so we have more to spend elsewhere?
  4. If Athletic Madrid want the Bilbao keeper Kepa to replace Oblak, could we save ourselves some cash and go straight for Kepa instead? They've been pretty good at spotting a good keeper recently
  5. Sterling will, and does, score plenty of tap-ins. That appears to be his job. City attack an area just to the edge of the 6 yard box and then have 3 options; shoot, pull it back to the edge of the box of cross it to the far post. Sterling's job appears to be getting to the back post. It's not rocket science, just be in the place where Pep has told you to be. They create so many chances, if you're in the right position you're bound to score quite a few. Even then, he has missed quite a few sitters this year.
  6. All our rumoured targets seem to be big money buys. Anyone heard anything about an 'Andy Robertson' type signing ie cheap, available and fits the system?
  7. I always remember Arsenal getting rid of Lukic for £1m and buying Seamen for £1.3m and I didn't get it at the time thinking 'why? Lukic is good enough'. But the rest is history, if a position can be improved, even by a bit then it should be done. Replace first team with players who can improve us and put the old first team on the bench and get rid of the bench warmers. The problem in this day and age is getting rid of the ones who can't make a difference when they are needed to. The trick is clearly not buying them in the first place. This summer is going to be difficult and we need to buy to improve what we have and replace others; Can (off), the Ox (depending on injury), Milner (age) etc. Not going to be easy.
  8. Great achievement to get to the final, disappointing how it's gone. Proud to be a Liverpool fan. Karius made mistakes but not on purpose and he must be feeling heartbroken so needs to be supported rather than berated YNWA. Hope any reds in Kiev stay safe and get home without issue. Onwards to next year!
  9. I admire your optimism Sir, alas unless a university need spare parts for research or a knackers yard needs glue, I feel disappointment lies around the corner, especially in the case of the later.
  10. Cheeky bid for Rashford or Martial? Slagged off again last night by Maureen. Can't see why anyone would go there or stay there with him as manager other than the cash.
  11. Do you not think being Champions League finalists or the atmosphere at Anfield against City and Roma or the fact that players improve under Klopp might have made him (or any potential targets) think again? Anyone coming in will get plenty of starts as we need to rotate more and we have been lucky with injuries to our front 3.
  12. The problem with Zaha is his value to Palace; they haven't picked up a single point when he's been out injured.
  13. I don't like the direction the club is taking. I don't like the fact that our best midfielder has left and not been replaced nor our squad strengthened nor are we apparently trying to do so. If we have the 'right player' in mind but can't get him now and are prepared to wait then great but why not say that? I don't like the fact that other clubs seem to be upping their game and at least trying to compete. I'm not happy settling for 2nd best but having a negative net spend. On the other hand, I do like Klopp and hope he stays for a long time. I like how we've bought Keita for next season and I'm not concerned that he won't be here until then. It's OK that we 're going to lose our best players but we should have replacements lined up / already in place. I have no real problem with any of the players, it's not Mignolet's (or Moreno's or 'insert name here's) fault he is as poor as he is and keeps getting picked. If that makes me a hysterical fanny then so be it. My life's pretty shit at the moment and I don't want Liverpool to be shit as well especially when with a few adjustments we could be great.
  14. We can all name a number of players who would instantly improve the team, that is not the problem. My concern is that we aren't going after anyone. There are now 266 pages of names with arguments for and against each one. It doesn't matter. The team is clearly not good enough in a number of positions to mount a credible challenge perhaps even for top 4 and we, as a club, are not wanting or willing to do anything to address this either through permanent or loan signings. We appear to be no good at identifying potential targets, effective scouting, negotiating or completing the deal or perhaps it's just about managing expectations.
  15. I agree with the sentiment, we won where we have lost in the past but herein lies the problem for me. Keeper, defence and midfield are treated as separate but need to work together. Keeper is pretty good but hardly inspires confidence so defence are panicky with him. Defence are spineless and not prepared to put their bodies on the line to stop shots / crosses - TAA, Klavan and Matip ducking out of headers for the Burnley goal last week and Moreno ducking out of the way of Gray's shot yesterday. Midfield do not support the defence - They are too far apart. Henderson and Can sat just in front of Lovren + Matip would help a lot. For me we are unbalanced, fantastic creating opportunities but far too open at the back.
