  1. NAIL ON HEAD!! That's what I've been saying for ages now. I know people pour scorn on the protests, the banners, the PR stuff, the meetings and everything else, but at least there's people out there trying to do SOMETHING!! Whether they are from SOS, the media, an LFC forum, a website, or wherever (and often they are all of the above!) it doesn't matter. All that matters - the one on only objective - is trying to rid our club of these parasites who don't care about us or our club, but only their bottom lines. Some actions I haven't agreed with, but I'll never criticise anyone for trying. If we're going to win this battle - and it is a battle, let's be clear on that - we need the apathy to be replacing by activity. We, the fans, have more power than we realise. We may just be 'customers' to G&H, but their whole business model is dependant on 'customers'. We have made inroads all ready, but we need everyone united to get the outcome we want, and our club needs.
  2. Well in fellas. It may seem like a small think, but it would have been very genuine and personal for Moores, so may just make a difference. Fingers crossed it does. Also, well in for getting off your arses and doing something to contribute towards trying to rid our club of these Yanks. The more people we get being active and taking actions to help oust them the better! I think it may be worth a follow up if you don't hear anything from him, though I'm not sure what the best way of doing that is. It's a tough balancing act between putting pressure on him and scaring him off. Good work though!!

  4. Yes mate. That's my flag. I was the big ginger lad... I was handing out flyers on the car park bit, so missed the stewards actually asking for it to be moved, but was told after. Shortly after the first move we were told to move it another few feet so it's off club property.
  5. Point 1 - Nice one mate. Good to hear. Point 2 - This is made harder as I believe the entrance is on club property (and therefore private property). I had to move a banner 5 foot to get if off club property yesterday.
  6. The numbers were a bit disappointing today, still the usual faces, but hopefully now people can see that this action can actually work hopefully some people who have been previously apathetic will get involved.
  7. Go one then... name 20. And then we'll see how many of those we got out money back on, or were kids for cheap prices...
  8. You scored 10 out of a possible 10 Maradona, Pele, Zidane. They've got nothing on you ... Got lucky on the Keane # of goals one, but knew the rest.
  9. Believe me. I've seen posts on forums saying "I don't like how it appears anti-American when that is not the issue"
  10. Ask not what your club can do for you… Ask what you can do for your club! 12 Noon. Sunday 25th October 2009. LFC Supporters Club. Lower Breck Road, Anfield. BE THERE. Your club needs YOU!! Undecided? Then read on: The Myth: "Sunday is a must win game, so we need to support the team and not be worrying about the owners. The team needs our backing" The Truth: Why does a march have to take away from the support inside the ground? The march will be done and dusted before kick-off, giving ample opportunity for you to get yourself in the ground and make yourselves heard. During the 90 minutes there will be total and unequivocal support and backing for the team. What happens outside of those 90 minutes doesn’t have any detrimental impact on the atmosphere during the game. In fact, it’s not a huge leap of faith to think that it should actually improve the atmosphere, as having experienced the camaraderie, solidarity and unity that the march should bring I know that I for one will be feeling galvanized and even more up for the match than normal. The Myth: It’s a “pro-Rafa” march. The Truth: It’s not a “pro-Rafa” march. That is a fact. The sole aim of this march is to remind the world, and our owners, that these “custodians” are not welcome here. In the game that probably has more media coverage and focus than any other League game at Anfield – especially given our current run of results – we have an opportunity to tell the world how Gillett and Hicks are running out beloved club into the ground. The Myth: The protest is against Yanks. The Truth: The protest is against THESE Yanks. There have been comments about people feeling concerned that the actions could be interpreted as being seen as an attack on America and Americans. The fact is that the nationality of Gillett and Hicks is irrelevant in the reasoning behind our absolute desire to see them out of our club. What is also true is that their nationality is also unequivocally linked to the public and media perception of the pair. When handling this accusation a few weeks ago I did a very quick and very basic bit of research to prove this point. I put ‘George Gillett’ into Google and had a look at the first few media reports, and this is what I found: - Telegraph – 2nd Paragraph – “The American claimed” - Guardian – Sub Headline – “American questions Benitez scouting and recruitment” - Times – 4th paragraph – “the American invited…” As such, given that it would appear that “American” or “Yanks” would seemingly be the top answer in Family Fortunes when 100 people were asked “a word you associate with Gillett and Hicks” (though my own words would be VERY different!) then there’s no reason not to integrate this into any campaign to provide tag lines, song lyrics, flag material or whatever else. To further differentiate this, recent flags have been deliberately worded to ensure there is no misunderstanding, hence the recent “YANK LIAR$ OUT!” effort, rather than a simple “YANKS OUT”. The Myth: It won’t make a difference, so what is the point? The Truth: As mentioned above this fixture will be getting lots of media coverage, giving us the opportunity to make ourselves heard. In addition to this, Gillett’s reaction when confronted by a fan asking him questions he didn’t want to hear left Gillett very much on the defensive and, not for the first time, somewhat rattled. Gillett and Hicks thought they were going to have an easy cash cow for them to fatten up and then cull for their own personal gains. A combination of the credit crunch, fall outs amongst themselves, ever changing markets, a lack of understanding in how to run a football club, and many other factors has meant that they are in a difficult situation. By continuing to show the world what they have been doing to our club – the debt, the lies, and the lack of leadership – and making sure they know they are not welcome here, then it may just tip the balance and mean we can oust them. And I for one know that I would much rather take direct action and do everything I can to get rid of the pair, and it not work, than stand on the sidelines and do nothing whilst our club’s very existence is put at risk. If you think that sounds overdramatic, then I would like to highlight the following excerpt from the audit of LFC’s accounts: "These conditions, along with other matters explained in note 1 to the financial statements, indicate the existence of a material uncertainty which may cast significant doubt on the Group's and parent company's ability to continue as a going concern. The financial statements do not include the adjustments that would result if the Group and parent company were unable to continue as a going concern." I shall repeat part of that again: “… which may cast significant doubt on the Group’s and parent company’s ability to continue as a going concern.” So amongst all the debate and discussions about our summer spending, it is worth considering that the vast majority of the Alonso fee was paid up front, and was used to reduce the debt – which was a fundamental requirement of the recent refinancing agreement. In the meantime we were able to ‘splash out’ on Glen Johnson (with Portsmouth owing Liverpool a significant amount on the back of the Crouch deal, meaning a reduced initial outlay) and Alberto Aquilani (for whom Roma’s own official site and the stock exchange confirmed that the initial outlay was 5m Euros. Without being able to reduce that debt immediately with the sale of Alonso (as well as the juggling detailed above) I dread to think what could have happened, or who could have been sold over the summer. So… Ask not what your club can do for you… Ask what you can do for your club! 12 Noon. Sunday 25th October 2009. LFC Supporters Club. Lower Breck Road, Anfield. BE THERE. Your club needs YOU!!
  11. One of those two banners that was removed was mine. Can't be arsed to retype the full story, but here's a snippet I posted on another site at the time...
