  1. anyone who thinks that the stadium debt would not have been put on the club (in some form or another, it'll likely be through a wholly owned subsidiary) is deluded.
  2. Don't forget that the previous summer the mancs actually had net income from transfer activity. So this summer they were in effect spending the previous summers transfer budget.
  3. That's like me saying I'd say no to Jeniffer Love Hewitt if she asked me out. I'd only say that because I know there is no fucking hope in hell that she'd ask me (although Jeniffer if by some miracle you read this then feel free to prove me wrong   ) didn't kenwright say something similar a couple of seasons back? He's only saying it because he won't get asked. Chelsea are very disliked across europe for some of the ways they went about business after abramovich took over.
  4. The online store says it'll be back in stock in about 4 weeks. Seems like a supply issue.
  5. Given that it's not available at JJB also suggests it's a supply issue from adidas that is the main problem here.
  6. the chances that it will be £700m of debt is slim to none. There will be a significant amount of equity put into the project. That will be generated from things like stadium/shirt sponsorship, the next kit sponsorship deal, advanced ticket receipts (deposits etc) for corporate or season tickets. The reality is probably debts of £600m, or less, with a 25 year repayment plan. Affordability will depend on various factors like interest rates and whether it is a fixed capital repayment plan or a mortgage style P&I repayment plan. The former will mean there are large outflows of cash to service the debt in the early years but as the years go on more and more cash will be freed up. The latter means a fixed repayment amount of principal and interest until it is all paid off. What also needs to be remembered is that 28% of any interest charge, and increased depreciation/capital allowances, incurred by the club will be effectively paid by the HMRC as it is a tax allowable expense. It will be alot more manageable to service in a 75,000 seater stadium than a 60,000 seater stadium. One thing that needs to be taken into consideration is that the £400m is the likely cost of a 75,000 seater stadium. If the stadium opens at 60,000 seats then the cost upto that point is likely to be much lower. Also is the £400m the full cost with associated works, ie the Anfield Plaza development and the opening of 2 new stations on the bootle line?
  7. ignore the fucking press. They still think we are a one player team.
  8. They aren't exactly monitoring it that well when they've completely missed a signature from a Clive Thomas.
  9. Just had a quick look on the FA website and for both Neville and Hibbert it states "Suspended from non-first team football until the Club have completed 1 reserve team match for a Sending Off in a match played on 20/10/2007." Does that mean they are only banned from reserve team football for their sendings off on saturday? If so what the fuck is all that about?
  10. funny, I thought the FA did the rules not the LMA, Tony stay off the booze please :wow:
  11. the second wasn't a penalty from the sheer fact it was 45 seconds after the 3 allocated minutes of stoppage time. As for the finnan incident, remember the 3-2 game (Gary Mac) when everton got a penalty for Hyypia having his arm on tampons shoulder? I would guess that most people bemoaned that, hell even duncan thought it had gone our way, while on saturday only lescott seemed to make any sort of appeal for it.
  12. he's certainly fit in there quickly, and that's just from the first couple of lines. But then I suppose he can probably get away with that sort of thing now that he probably won't have many readers on merseyside.
  13. what gets me is that they are calling it a two footed challenge. His feet weren't even part of the challenge.
  14. initially gray did actually say he though kuyt was trying to block the ball but then had another look and I think he might have changed his mind. Dunno fully though as only saw about a 10 second clip of sky's coverage earlier.
  15. There were a few of our lot in their end who were advised to leave after 20 minutes for their own safety, from both the stewards and the cops. Anyway it'll be ironic really if they continue singing about that when they move to kirkby (unless everyone suddenly ups roots to kirby the summer they move)
