Mark Radcliffe played a couple of tracks this afternoon and had a guy in talking about the album. The tracks I heard were top notch (and the analysis was interesting too) and I'll be looking to pick the album up. I only own a couple of compilations and Highway 61, I need to address this.

I'm the same as Karlos really. I rarely purchase old records. My mum and dad had all those and I heard them loads growing up. I don't own any Beatles records, or Stones or Led Zeppelin or David Bowie, etc. etc.

Just have always bought new things.

It's an odd one really, I admire him and like most of what I've ever heard by him I've just never picked much stuff up for whatever reason. I noticed HMV had some of his albums in their 2 for £10 deal, so I may well go pick some up at dinner (mid-day meal) time.

 

I'm the same with Johnny Cash to some extent, I own all the American Recordings but only a live album and a couple of compilations of his older stuff.

Same here; I'm waiting to inherit my Dad's collection of Clash, Undertones, Specials, Jam, etc, etc records which are the older bands I grew up with. I've mostly always bought contemporary records with the odd classic thrown in, the likes of Bowie, Beatles, Dylan, Cash, Nick Drake and so on.

Picked up Blonde on Blonde and The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan for a combined £10 and thought I may as well get the new one whilst I was there. Bob Dylan night ahoy!

Bob is my number one. It always amazes me that a young kid in his early twenties could have penned some of the things he has. A personal favourite line of mine is "...crying like a fire in the sun" (answers on a post card for the song).
