Got to be Goodfellas then Casino for me, Raging Bull, Gangs of New York and Taxi Driver close behind.

Bought Mean Streets a while back and watched about 3/4's way through. Couldn't get into it and haven't gone back to watch the rest of it yet.

Might have to finish it soon as this threads reminded me.

Taxi Driver, Raging Bull and Goodfellas are my top 3 in no particular order. I think that both The King Of Comedy and Gangs Of New York were underrated though. I also think that The Departed was a bit overrated. It was good, but Infernal Affairs was much better. I feel Scorsese got the Oscar as a sympathy vote after years of more superior films missing out.

Boring, but Goodfellas obviously.

I'm also a huge fan of Gangs of New York. Day-Lewis' Bill the Butcher is one of of my favourite characters of all time.

I quite like Bringing out the Dead as well. I don't know what the intention was, but for me it's one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.

Acid you need to be . . corrected.

It's a great film, and as far as the others on the list go, I only have Goodfellas to compare it with, and yea, I prefer The Departed.

Im only young, give me time to see the others.

Shutter island was pretty good especially 2nd time round. Obvious choice for goodfellas then Casino. I have to be in a particular mood for taxi driver or raging bull . That said the photography in bull in unreal.

What a great poll; some truely outstanding films there.

At this very moment, for me...

1. The Last Temptation of Christ

2. Raging Bull

3. The Departed

4. Goodfellas

5. Taxi Driver

6. Kundun

7. The King of Comedy

8. The Aviator

Honestly, to rank them is futile anyway. Scorcese is a great.

gangs of new york was a very nice idea, the set was fabulous and daniel day lewis was boss but the plot just stank the place out in my opinion and it was a bad decision casting di caprio in that role.

the departed had its moments and some great casting and writing but i wasnt completely convinced by it, definitely a sympathy oscar for all their fcuk ups over the years.

goodfellas

raging bull

king of comedy

mean streets

taxi driver

and anyone who doesnt like mean streets is a mook

the style of casino is too similar to goodfellas for me although its a fabulous movie as well.
