I don't, I want to saviour every Kenny interview and goal celebration, not to mention possibly winning the UEFA Cup for a record 4th time.

To everyone:- I've noticed there's a big expectation regarding summer signings from a number of people on here, where is this coming from?

For me it's because we were looking at signing Suarez regardless of Torres and then post transfer request we were also in for Adam and Young and enquired about Micah Richards. Whilst I don't necessarily want those specific players it shows to me that the summer gives cause for optimisim.

Kenny Dalglish has hit out at Andy Carroll's detractors following his £35 million move from Newcastle to Liverpool.

Carroll has been brought in as a replacement for Fernando Torres, but eyebrows have been raised on the business sense of spending a British record transfer fee on a player who has spent just six months as a regular in the English Premier League.

The 22-year-old striker faced a lot of questions about his ability to justify his price tag in Thursday's press conference, and Dalglish was itching to have his say by the time the media turned to the Liverpool manager.

"We're a bit more upbeat about Andy Carroll joining than you are. Every question you ask has negativity in it," said Dalglish.

"I don't see any reason to be negative in any way, shape or form about Andy Carroll signing for Liverpool Football Club. It's a great signing for us, as is the signing of Luis [suarez], it's fantastic for us.

"We can assure Andy we're far more positive than yourselves are. We are looking forward to getting him fit, up and ready, and I'm sure he's anxious to play as well. It might be a few weeks, but we didn't sign him for a few weeks. We signed him for five and a half years."

Dalglish began life without Torres with a 2-0 victory over Stoke on Wednesday, his third straight win sweetened by a third consecutive clean sheet, not to mention a debut goal from Suarez. Now he wants to add Carroll into his improving Liverpool side.

"Andy has huge potential, he's already in the England squad, and he is the best player we could have got for the position. Everybody in here has to justify their wages and their costs, so if you lot can do that for yourselves, I'm sure you can do it for us."

As has been mentioned on other sites by other posters, Kenny is building a siege mentality. It's 'we' for anyone at the club and the fans and 'you' for everyone else, especially the media. I suppose he has seen just how much of a shit many parts of the media have been about this club, this isn't paranoia you know and I know this is true. At the same time he's making it a proper team, not individuals, but a team.

He has the players playing as a team, it's a real pleasure.

He takes no prisoners, he takes no shit from the media at all. Like a knight in shining armour he protects his players while battling the dragons with his razor sharp wit.

We're truly blessed to have this genius back where he belongs and long may it continue.

I hope you're right but I really don't share the optimism or understand your reasons behind it.

There's no point in me being a buzzkill here though, I'll just continue to enjoy my lifelong true hero, Kenny.

Is it just me or are this season's kits the worst in a long time? The polo neck looks like it's choking players and the tight midriff is awful.

The 06-08 one is my favourite of the last decade.

I think they're poor, although I like the yellow and black contrast on the 3rd kit the neck is wrong and it lasts 9 months.

But strangely enough kits tend to be more popular when they are worn in a season when we win something big. That's not an official stat, just an observation of mine.

New signing Luis Suarez has spoken of the crucial role Kenny Dalglish played in helping him decide to launch an exciting phase of his career at Liverpool.

The Uruguayan World Cup star became Liverpool's record signing for a short time on Monday before the club completed the capture of Andy Carroll.

The former Ajax striker even revealed how his new manager spoke to him in Spanish when they met each other.

"He [Dalglish] is a person who you respect after only a few minutes of conversation," Suarez told LFC Weekly in his first exclusive interview with the written media since arriving at Anfield.

"He tried to speak to me in Spanish - 'hola, bienvenido' (hello and welcome) - the basics and that impressed me. Obviously, he is a legend at this club...in this city, but I think it's very important to judge people as you see them rather than just what you hear. He has lived up to that legend in my eyes.

"I could see quickly that Dalglish is a manager and a person who I can relate to and he is very determined to make the team play with a certain image - the kind of attractive football that I want to be a part of.

"He was very keen to bring me here and if there is one person that was influential in my signing it was him. He is very ambitious about the club and is confident he can lead the club back to the top. Now I am here, I do not want to disappoint him in any way."

Playing up front for Liverpool brings a lot of pressure for a young South American - pressure that is added to be the fact he will wear the coveted number seven shirt once worn by his new manager.

But Suarez is happy to deal with it.

"Ajax made me realise that it's important to keep a perspective on life and football," he reflects. "I am aware that the fee Liverpool paid for me was big, but I'm not going to worry about that. There will be a pressure from the outside for me to succeed but every time I set foot on to a football pitch, I want to enjoy it. There is no point being here if I don't enjoy it.

"Some players can become obsessed with the pressure and trying to deal with it, but I think it is important to be yourself - try your best and believe in yourself."

Spot on again from Kenny in respect of the media. I thought Carroll was a bit aprehensive but he took his time and his answers were good. This injury of his and the fact it's not been properly diagnosed as yet is a bit of a concern. I thought he saw a specialist in Norway for it and he had a schedule for coming back?

Andy come across really well in the face of some pretty cuntish questions. Dan Roan's "Andy, are you worth £35m?" was particularly snide and shite. Its gonna be tough for him to start with, he's only just turned 22, his whole life is in Newcastle and the media are desperate for him to fail or make a mistake off the pitch but he'll be fine after a while and be a big asset.

I have one and it is very tight. I actually prefer the one with the V-neck from the last 2 seasons. It's a better looking shirt, plus the one I have is sponsor-free so it looks even better.

love kenny he ozzes class and dignity hands the media there arese,s on a plate.another 5 or 6 signings in the summer.i would love kenny to be my father.ha ha!!!

He's like yoda, or confucious....

His words have more meaning than the words themselves....I don't know how he does it...

I was still at school when he was last in charge, I'd forgotten just how much he embodies the spirit of our club. Dignified, passionate, but nobodies fool.
