Japan's national anthem manages to be even more dreary than GSTW. They should ditch it and replace it with something more stirring, such as 'Battle Without Honuor or Humanity' by Tomoyasu Hotei. He's Japanese and it's stil a killer piece of music despite being overused in shitty adverts.

Love the French one. What one do the Russians use? Is it the same one as in Rocky 4? If so then that is hauntingly brilliant.

They use the same tune but apparently the words have been changed a bit. I keep expecting to see a giant Ivan Drago banner being unfurled whenever they play it at the World Cup.

I've not got a patriotic bone in my body and the Last Night of the Proms is my idea of Hell, but even I can see that Land of Hope and Glory does absolutely everything that a national anthem is supposed to do.
