Xbox One

Recommended Posts

My son is a proper PC geek and has given me his Xbox One as console gaming is 'shit'.

I keep getting this annoying message telling me to sign in to Xbox Live and to insert the disc.

I've done both and even tried the old PS2 trick of having the console at an angle when inserting the disc but it's still telling me the same thing.

Really fucked off now, can any fellow Red nerds pass on any advice that isn't have you tried rebooting or kicking it into next week?

Have you tried rebooting it into next week?

Next on the list. Probably still tell me no disc inserted though.

Seriously though modern technology is great and all that but I don't recall such problems when playing ISS or Resident Evil back in the day.

Plug and play, not DLC and sign up for this that and the other.

Game needs to be downloaded to harddrive and then the game needs to be in the xbox to play. Unless he bought the game online through the xbox store you need a physical disc of the game you want to play

Tried all this and still same problem.

I dislike Microsoft intensely.

Have you signed up to a hotmail/outlook email address? You can use that to sign in to xbox live. It's possible that as it's not your xbox that the email address used to sign in to xbox live is no longer valid or password has changed or it has simply signed out for security reasons and now you have to sign in again.

Go to hotmail.com, get an email address and use it to sign in on the xbox.

Failing this, take Remmie's advice and cunt it in the bastard.

All sorted, embarrassingly easily by my lad.

Pro Evo, Ultimate Edition Gears of War and GTA5 now downloading.

The missus fancies an early night (not that kind) so I'm going to enjoy a game or two.

Save GTA till you have a good few hours on a daily basis to get stuck into it.

Have you played the other GOW games?

Enjoyed the last one myself. No need to have played the others but id play them in order. Great games

Good advice re GTA5. I played the 360 version, immersive doesn't do it justice.

I played all the previous Gears games also on 360 and loved them, especially horde in co-op play.

I've had around an hour of GOW4 and I'm a little disappointed to be honest.

I'm working nights tonight so before I try and get some shut eye this afternoon going to revisit the originals.

Ever since my Internet connection went down for a few days my Xbox One simply refuses to connect to the Internet even though every other device does. Bloody nuisance and I am now resorting to buying an ethernet cable to connect my modem the the Xbox directly rather than wirelessly.

Fuck Microsoft.

I've generally found resetting the wireless settings and forgetting the network works

Everything I tried simply failed again and again. As soon as I plugged an ethernet cable straight into the Xbox from the router, as soon as I switched it on it started downloading an update. I basically had a bricked Xbox until I plugged the cable in. Poor show, Microsoft. But at least with a direct connection I would imagine the connection will be faster and more reliable than wireless. Plugged the PS4 in for the same performance hopefully.
