World Snooker Championship 2018

Starts this Saturday.

The draw:

Ronnie drew Maguire first round - that's a bad draw for both of them. That match starts on Saturday afternoon, I believe.

Hopefully Ronnie can win it this year as his chances of getting a sixth are running out. I have my doubts though, but fingers crossed.

Got a few quid each way on outsiders in Dott, Day, Brecel myself.

Hope Selby doesn't win it again - in fact, I hope he gets knocked out ASAP. No personal beef with the bloke but can't be doing with watching him bore his way through 100+ frames again this year.

He was when I placed the bet - he was flying at that point - but he's well out of form now. Though he could do some damage if he can regain his form. I'm not too hopeful about that bet though to be honest.

Yeah, but he strikes me as the kind who's got one great tournament and a potential world title in him, then will turn back into a pumpkin.

Graeme Dott will tear up the tournament with his extravagant potting game, making mincemeat of his competitors and bringing his sparkling wit and irresistible Scotch charm to the table. His easy-going manner will have punters and media eating out of his palm.

Either that, or Selby will efficiently grind his way to the trophy, moving through the rounds as inevitably as a glacier through rock.
