Dave has put round notice to everyone of a TLW collection/donation.

 

While you're welcome to respond privately it's always good to share ideas to reach some kind of consensus before going ahead.

 

Feel free to use this thread for your responses and we'll go from there.

 

I'll ask Dave to stickie the thread.

Think those who paid in (not me) should have final say on that and already read a couple of great shouts in the thread.

It is. There seemed to be agreement to put it out to a wider audience and give others a chance to put into a collection and make a decision depending on the outcome. You may remember the last collection we ran that there was a suggestion we could make it a regular/annual thing so the 2 things kind of came together.

 

It might be that we end up making a donation to more than one cause

Sorry to say, I’m unfortunately gonna give this one a miss as well. Sounds like a good charity but myself and my bird deliberately don’t send Xmas cards to anyone and instead donate to the food bank and also Crisis who sort out some Christmas dinners for homeless folk in various cities around the country. Hades may well call me a selfish cunt but I’ve already donated more to homeless charities this Christmas than I’ve spent on presents for everyone excluding my kids.

 

Also, I’m intending to treat myself to a chicken and shish kebab later so I’m gonna save my tenner for the next whip round Cath organises for one of you dickheads on here.

Hi Cath, I didn't play the prediction game this season, just forgot about it. I've sent what the fee for playing would have been for the collection for whatever charity you decide. Don't think I put a message in with the money transfer, but I take it you know my email address which will show up anyway.

There's £265 in the collection to date.

 

I reckon we should keep it going until the end of the month to allow for people being paid after the longest month of the year.

 

If, as some have suggested we make this the start of an annual collection, I vote we collect  money before Christmas next time round
