Scary Movies

My missus always wants to go to the pictures to watch scary stuff & I have to tell her 'no chance', jumping out of my seat & screaming like a dickhead in front of 50 other people is not my idea of fun at all.

As for the scariest, the original Halloween & The Blair Witch Project both had me absolutely terrified for days afterwards & the latter one I watched when I was an adult. I tend to give scary films a swerve if at all possible.

I can't watch stuff like Saw and all that. Never been a fan of scary dil;ms until recently. I watched Insidious a while back and enjoyed it (up until the end). I also put myself through Hostel which was great for the first 40 minutes, full of tits and arse. Then it went really grim.

The older stuff is definitely more scary though. I swear every other film in the 80's was a horror film. Just remember being a kid and seeing video fronts for scary shit everywhere. Especially that bald cunt with the nails in his head.

Jaws was the scariest film I've ever seen.

The head scene still scares the shit out of me, I remember watching it as a kid and it fucked me up for weeks, watching it  I remember thinking why the hell would you go in the water with a man eating shark knocking about..

The music to this still gives me the chills

House Of The Devil is great - from 2009 but set in the 1980s. Pays great tribute to similar from the 1970s and 1980s.

The original Halloween is fantastic, as is The Exorcist.

Yeah that is good, Tom Noonan is one scary fuck in everything. I genuinely think I'd be scared if I met him in real life

I watched another one of by the same director the other night - The Innkeepers - that was fairly good too.

My top 5 in no particular order would probably be:

Scream

Halloween

A Nightmare on Elm Street

The Blair Witch Project

Psycho

The Devil Rides Out and Race With The Devil. Ant Devil Worship films freak me out, robes and chanting and shit.

Race with the Devil is one of my favourite films, I got the DVD & watch it about once a year, the scene in the swimming pool is one of the most paranoid things ever committed to film (despite being so badly directed/edited).

It's even got a bit with a car exploding for no reason as it plummets off a bridge, brilliant.

My 2nd favourite film of all time. Seen it easily 100 times and it still shits me up. The bit when the fat cunts are throwing meat in to get it and one falls in.....

"This is my wife's holiday roast...!"

"Swim, Charlie, swim!  Don't look back, Charlie!"

"Can we go home now?"
