Got told about this by a work colleague today.

3 month trial of Tidal. Usually costs £20 per month.

Download CapTune (Sennheiser App) from Apple store.

Go to settings/streaming services/TIDAL/Account Logged in as/Sign up to Tidal. There should be a 3 month free trial option.

Make sure you pay by credit card for piece of mind, you don't have to of course.

Cancel immediately and enjoy 3 months free.

Not sure if this works on android via Play Store. Maybe someone can report back if it does.

Quality is fantastic.

How does it compare to Spotify? Quality and Quantity wise? I've got some pretty basic Sennheiser (£30-£35) headphones, will there be a noticeable difference in sound through an iPhone?

Currently using Spotify on the family plan. Four accounts for £15 a month. Great value considering the use we all get from it.

Never used Spotify as have Amazon Music free as part of my Prime yearly sub.

To be honest, this is probably only for audiophiles. The sound quality is fucking superb, but I've got high end gear.

One really cool feature (not sure if Spotify does this, Amazon defo doesn't) is if you add an artist to your collection. Then you just access the artists entire discography from your collection.

No harm in trying it as it's free, but you're not going to get better value than Spotify/Amazon for a family sub.

I tried a 1 month free Tidal sub only a few months ago because I was also interested how Tidal's lossless FLAC files would stack up against the HQ bit rate offered by Spotify Premium.

Results were interesting because there was no discernible difference whatsoever between the two.

I could however hear an improvement over the files streamed through Spotify Free.

I binned Tidal after my free month and now stream through Spotify Premium, into Cyrus One amp and Quad S2 speakers.

I also have a free apk file for Spotify Premium (usually £10 pm). If anyone wants it then just drop me a PM.

I downloaded the dodgy Spotify Premium for iOS (checked setting was on 320 kbs for quality) and Tidal blows it away for quality listening to the same songs on my Bang & Olufsen wireless headphones.

I wouldn't call myself an audiophile, but the songs on Spotify are noticably quieter and less defined.
