Temuri Ketsbaia - Georgian midfielder at Newcastle who once kicked the shit out of the advertising hoarding behind the goal after scoring, even removing his boot and getting ready to kick the shit out of the hoarding once more. I don't know what got him so riled and I think he was out injured for the next few games.

Funny as fuck that. Newcastle had a very good side a few years before that then they signed Asprilla and Ketsbaia who were just fucking lunatics.

Not the two guys you want to see pulling up in a pickup to 'help' when your family's car breaks down on a deserted highway in a southern state.

Trifon Ivanov had his own personal tank and used to cruise around the countryside in it. He was the man Nigel Pearson dreams of being.

Once upon a time, when he still was an active player, Trifon Ivanov bought a tank. He purchased it directly from the army, without ammunition, and drove the meadows of countryside in his spare time

“He’s the only person I know who shaves right before the game and ends it with a full beard” – Rapid Vienna legend Peter Schöttel, paying tribute to his then team-mate Trifon ‘Wolfman’ Ivanov, the hirsute Bulgarian cult hero – and destroyer of Wales – who has died aged just 50.

“It’s great, it floats in water and can withstand six tons” – the late Trifon Ivanov pays tribute to the tank he bought at a sale of second-hand military equipment in Svishtov, Bulgaria.

Ian Woan had a great left foot. If I was a football commentator in the 90s I'd say he had a cultured left foot.

Saeed Al Owairan. Scored for Saudi Arabia against Belgium at the 1994 World Cup. Took the ball in his own half, dribbled past 5 players and stuck the ball past the goalie STRAIGHT INTO THE ONION BAG.

Torsten Frings, his name sticks in my head for no apparent reason. I liked him as a player, but can't really remember why.

Actually on second thought he was slow as fuck comparatively to other top level professionals (much like Ryan Stevenson) so perhaps its that, that someone could go so far in the sport while not being able to run very quickly.

Was going to mention Frings. Think I just wanted us to sign him for the song A Few of my Favourite Frings.
