Couldnt agree more. Im still majorly surprised though that the top European clubs permit this shite to continue unchecked.

 

OK, we may not be one of the mega rich clubs (we're still supposedly 1 of the top 10 'wealthiest' clubs in Europe) but you would really think the owners of the mega rich clubs would be seriously pissed off if their players were being forced to sit out club games because of meaningless friendly internationals.

 

Im mean fucking hell, the boys from brasil dont play until later today and wont be back in Liverpool until Wednesday by special chartered jet. How the fuck is it that South american countries are playing today when Europe played at the weekend? What happened to aligning the internationals world wide? How come one half of the world completes the internationals on the Sunday yet others are still fucking playing 2 days later?

i hate the breaks but there is actually an argument for making the breaks two weeks as it is ridiculous to have players coming back on a Thursday after playing 180 mins over last few days and being on 12 hour flights then expect them to be in a fit state to play on saturday/midweek for their employers.

 

some squads might be able to absorb it - ours can't and why should we anyway...
