I agree, stick in a few match winning mentalities and it will get the best out of those on the fringe. Having a good spine to a team is worth a lot more than some think.

A proven keeper. 

 

Decent CB to partner Matip. 

 

A DM with an engine to link up play when not defending.

 

Pacey forward with a bit of height.

Mignolet - back up at best in a so called top side. GET RID

 

Karius - See above but open to more improvement possibly. KEEP

 

Manninger - What the actual fuck. IRRELEVANT.

 

Defenders

 

Clyne - Decent but not good enough going forward in our formation if your full backs are going to be your only real width they need better end product than Clyne. KEEP

 

Lovren - Decent back up nothing more. GET RID.

 

Gomez - Talented kid, progress disrupted badly by injuries...i am unsure he'll make it - may prove me wrong but he isn't the answer right now. KEEP

 

Klavan - Squad filler that we should have but of better quality. GET RID

 

Moreno - Never going to be the answer. GET RID

 

Matip - our best defender, injuries the worry...so far the only player i would say is definitely first team good enough week in week out. KEEP

 

TAA - Maybe in a couple of years. Potential. KEEP

 

Randall - Forget it, he'll be a championship at best level player. GET RID

 

 

 

Midfielders

 

 

Wijnaldum - I like him, but he is just steady - would be on the bench every week in a proper title chasing side for me. KEEP

 

Milner - Rock solid pro, teams need his sort but not playing at LB because we have nothing else there...he has done well there but it is a waste...again probably a bench job in a top side. KEEP

 

Coutinho - 2nd defo starter for me and potentially our only world class player. KEEP

 

Henderson - The captain of LFC...fucking hell, sorry but that shows what a state we are in, he isn't shite but he isn't captain of LFC level...or at least he wouldn't be usually. He isn't going to improve enough now would command a decent fee and be sound at a mid table ambition club - so...GET RID.

 

Grujic - Who knows? See if he can actually get and stay fit. KEEP

 

Lallana - For me the 3rd starter in sqiad so far - needs to be more consistent and would benefit from not being shunted around due to the holes in our squad. KEEP

 

Lucas - Thanks for all the effort over the years, lad but it is well past time you moved on now. GET RID

 

Can - Overrated show pony. Ponderous in thought and deed....wants twice as much time as he usually has and thinks he is twice as good as he is. GET RID

 

Stewart - Jay Spearing. GET RID

 

Ojo - Too early to say but certainly does not get near our team yet. KEEP

 

Forwards

 

Firmino - Not a false 9 and not a number 9....would be more effective in a different formation IMO. Starter number 4 so far. KEEP

 

 

Sturridge - Done and dusted. Shame. GET RID

 

Mane - Literally the only player we have who can stretch defenders and inject pace into our play. His absence showed just how unbalanced our squad is when the knock on effect of him being missing was other square pegs being hammered into round holes. Starter number 5. KEEP

 

Origi - The bench striker. KEEP

 

Ings - Fucked. Shame. GET RID.

 

We have virtually nobody out on loan worth mentioning aside from Ward who can come in and be 3rd choice keeper....Flanno who at his best would be handy back up and Sakho who for me would be the bench centre half but is clearly fucked due to what has gone on.

 

So for me out of our entire squad we have 5 definite starters and 10 solid enough squad players...which means 15 to start with as a base but half a dozen short of a proper first 11 that would challenge for title.

A forward with height might help the full backs, they get forward enough but usually have little to target in the box when it comes to crossing. Nothing wrong with cutting back in and going through the inner channels, just not all the time. Both are decent enough at defending, not the best, but decent enough if you have a good CB pairing and a DM who is on the ball.

TBF mate the movement in the box when we get out wide is none existent, they are more or less forced to cut back inside or fuck about with the ball waiting for targets. Mane summed that up perfectly when he did the exact same thing out on the left wing before chipping that ball into the box where it eventually fell to Coutinho who fucked up a great chance. Milner had to do the same on a few occasions.
