Man of the match - Game 13 - Crystal Palace - Away - PL

Coutinho

Matip

Moreno*

This last one is more about the context than anything else. He had lost his way at Liverpool and everyone wanted him gone. He was rightly replaced and Milner has done very well since coming into the side.

I'm not saying for one minute that it's total redemption for Moreno by any means, as he has a long way to go to convince us he has a future here.

So credit to him for the way he played today. He should have been tighter and stopped that cross coming in, but he wasn't bad today. He put in a good first time cross on the volley for Can's opener, and he always gave us an outlet getting forward on the left. His stamina is very good too, as he was offering attacking impetus near the end of today's game to help take some pressure off the defence, when other players would have been spent or going down with cramp.

You could probably make a stronger case for a few other players today, such as Henderson or Firmino, but given the context, I'm putting Moreno in third place. Well done lad. You are not out of the woods yet, but that was better. I saw evidence of improvement after having been backed and coached by Klopp and even though Milner should go straight back into the side when he's feeling better, Moreno has taken a step in the right direction for me.
