I Need a New ISP

Had a nightmare with TalkTalk and managed to cancel mid contract without penalty.

They've taken 36 days so far to resolve an issue and it's back at square one, useless twats.

Any recommendations of a solid, stable ISP with UK based call centres?

I cant fault my BT Infinity connection to be honest. I know some have issues with quoted speed compared to how fast they actually get but mine is pretty much spot on. They quoted me about 51mb DL and for the first 18 months, I was regularly at 54 and sometimes hit 56. Im now down to 51.5mb which I put down to cross interference as the number of new Infinity connections in my local cabinet increased.

Havent needed or attempted to use customer service which is reckoned to be shitiest of the shit but read today they are bringing their call centres back to the UK.

So the gist is if you dont need to call CS you could be ok but if not, then until the call centers are back in the UK, you take a risk?

Moneysavingexpert reckon plusnet are the cheapest and have highly rated customer service, though I guess it depends on if you want fibre optic or copper connections.

Plusnet,non-fibre are very basic and pretty standard. As for their fibre optic,I have no idea as in my area we can only get Virgin as the fibre optic alternative.

My Dad lives a few minutes away on the same estate and his connection through normal Plusnet is pretty poor.

When my Ma got out of hospital we had nightmares trying to get her broadband sorted, and the worst offenders - by a distance - were those cunts at BT. Their "service" wasn't laughable, but it was bordering on criminal and they quite knowingly put my owld Ma's life in danger by disconnecting her landline, several times, even though they knew her emergency care pendant needed the line to carry the signal.

I would urge every single one of you to boycot those utter utter cunts.

We finally approached things in a very different manner, we simply searched Google for great broadband customer service and Zen stood out. One call to them and I could have cried tears of relief and happiness, straight through to an English speaking human being, no bullshit, no hanging around, no subterfuge, no call centres, no lies. Six months on and still can't fault them.

British Telecom fuck off and die.

I'm on the lookout for a new ISP. Fucking off my telly and getting a zgemma box instead and I'll be paying £51 for my Internet and phone line as it stands. Was looking at Vodafone who charge just for internet and line rental is free but reviews ain't great.

Ideally looking for 72 meg net and cheapest line rental because our house phone is never used and we're paying for what is essentially a tax on broadband by paying for it.

I need to deal as I'm paying a fortune for virgin - though generally happy with it.

I'm paying £42/Month including a phone line which I don't want. I don't even have a landline phone. That's for 50mb unlimited.

Where have you seen that sky offer? I've just been on their site and there's nothing even close to that good.
