New manager

A few things the new manager (and the club) must do so as not to repeat the mistakes of the past:

- do not talk shit in the media

- do not act subservient to managers of (certain) other clubs

- do not talk about the club as a project

- do not talk about your 'philosophy' to the media, particularly in detail

- do not describe every upcoming fixture as a 'tough game'; if you have to talk about it (usually in pre-match PCs), then just say something to the effect of us going into the game to play and win, not 'trying to' play and win

- do not sign players on a whim just to spend transfer funds

- do not sign any players if the available options are nowhere near improving what you've already got

- do not sign players best suited to other roles if you aren't going to use them in those roles

- do not sign first team players if they are not familiar with playing for clubs elsewhere who are expected to challenge for and win things

- do not ever pick a starting XI consisting of untried youngsters and fringe players for any first-team fixture as it doesn't allow the youngsters to develop properly or motivate the fringe players to perform well

- do not select or ostracise players just to prove a point that only serves to boost your own ego

- do not sign players who can only function properly when playing one game a week

- do not give the manager a new contract the second he has a good season as this is often the point at which things start turning to shit for him

There might be more but the above are all things that have not been followed, thus creating unnecessary problems with the running of the club, the development of the team and the attaining of good results.

Just get the signings right and the rest will follow.

Anyone bucking the trend of the past twenty five years' non-stop pouring cash down the drain could be forgiven for having Maddie in their garage, let alone the usual foibles.

That said, I doubt we'll appoint Stig.

Still think ancelotti is what we need. We need someone who's going to oversee a long term project and create stability, that's what we've needed since G&H and that's what Ancelotti does. Klopp is exciting but seemingly volatile, I imagine a lot of ups and downs under him, he doesn't seem the type to come in and reorganise a club.

Then what he did at BVB? Or Mainz?

Whoever he is lets not laud him with songs that mention him in the same breath as shankly and lets not give him his own flag on the kop until he actually wins things.

we re so desperate for that league title we re ready to hero worship anyone who looks like they can get us it. One of the many things thst done for brendan is that he was manager of the team that took us highest but then took us back way down to where we ve been for a long time. The flags and the songs for our most successful.premier league manager in so much as he got us closest but we finished 2nd.

hopefully its only between klopp and ancelotti and hopefully they can deliver true success and are worthy of flags and songs.

Ancelotti hasn't had a long term project since MIlan though. Klopp is the opposite in that regard.

Tony Pulis is very good at stabalising relegation prospects, but he seems happy where he is. Mourinho is bored at Chelsea, having won the Prem first season back. He'd relish turning us around with all our hate surrounding his dugout.

Hmmm Ancelotti or Klopp....

Hodgson's got a point to prove, ey?

Yeah after 3 double jamiesons I'm takin' the puss.

Go the Wallabies.
